They are crooks, they can not possibly raise rates since we are paying the highest rates in the nation. How can they justify new rates.
Everyone please protest the new rate increase, we must stick together.

This also needs to be printed in Spanish, most all of Fitchburg cannot speak English they should also be made aware of any increases....

The part that makes me sick and these rate hikes totally bogus is that when they post earnings and bonus payouts it's through the roof. They make millions and complain that they need to raise the rates. How come this is allowed to keep happening. I know this is america and businesses should be allowed to make money but how much is enough and when are they going to stop screwing us over?

I agree with the previous post
Unitil will buyoff / bribe a couple of
streetwalkers like DiNatale and Flanagan and the
rate will go up. If Lisa Wong thinks she is going to get reelected with a proposal this weak she must smoking something. Not to mention her 4000 dollar a
week police chief, all the unemployed tow truck operators, system scammers like the VanPool Company
and on and on it goes with her. I hope Fuzzy runs
Glad I moved

Lived thru the ice storm and once was enough; Wasn't Martha Coakley the one that said Unitil should be fined $4M and the DPU said they couldn't do it, now she is now saying she will fight a rate increase related to the storm? Of course!!!!!!! Why? because it was one of the only things to come out of the DPU ruling! It was already determined.. What a surprise! She wants everyone to think she is there for them! LIES.....Flanagan and Benson are in Unitil's pocket so far you will need hardware to remove them. They will do ANYthing to keep Unitil happy...wonder why???
Glad I have National Grid now.

I am very lucky --- I have NStar.
Their response teams are compenent and when you call to report an outage they tell you if they already were notified and they give you an estimate of when power should be restored.
In the last 10 years only once did it take more time than the estimate . Took 10 extra minutes. They are great.
If I had Unitil or National Grid I'd sell my house and move to an Nstar town. Hats off to nstar.

Last week? Mayor Wong, where you have been for the last couple of years? Why didn't you propose this at the end of 2008? And when the heck are our lights going to be turned back on? It has been nearly TWO YEARS.
What really irks me is my property has been devalued-again-by the city and yet my property taxes have been INCREASED AGAIN!
Do something for the people in this town for gosh's sakes besides talk and take our money.
File for an abatement.
We did it last year and our home value was adjusted down 70k.
It saved us about 1000 this year.

It isn't the regulated rates you should worry about. Wong has pulled a fast one.
Unitil would still be distributing the electricity, and those distribution charges are unregulated and can go as high as they want them.
Wong is doing exactly what Unitil wants her to do. They don't make money off the regulated charges. Their business is distribution.
Look at how your bill breaks down.
Smoke and mirrors.
Sure, and Lunenburg is following right in Fitchburgs footsteps. I guess Lunenburg and Cathy Clark are also trying to pull a fast one on all of us too? Stupid comment.

maybe they could charge the rates according to the demographic area; and as we all know most of the residents in this area are now on government assisted programs so in actuality she would be saving the state money not us! meaning us = the residents who worked their tails off to make ends meet and try to hang on to our middle to upper middle class homes and community.

This entire area exploits the fact that people are on assistance.
Guaranteed pay = price gauging.
Supermarkets, utility companies, landlords, etc...
not going to take it
