I grew up in LeMay from 6th grade straight into the ARMY hancocks educational program wasn't all that great then. My daughter attended Hancock K-12 and is starting her senior year at Truman University next week . Her experience at Hancock was fantastic but we had programs for the "gifted" or accellerated classes that the incoming staff was NOT in favor of even though the parents and kids loved the programs , the new staff felt a need to "spread out" the gifted students into "regular" classes...BORING the to no end. As far as safety I have always felt safe walking the streets anytime of the day or night.

I have never felt unsafe and I have lived here for over 30 years. There are some younger wanna be thugs but for the most part they are harmless except for their filthy language. There are alot of panhandlers. I get asked for money just about everytime I go to Shop and Save.

LOL. The hood huh? Well there are some gangs and a couple of rowdy families with teen agers in Parc Lorraine. Cops are always called out there.

Hancock was a aweful school when I was there and I seen where a teacher was arrested for havin sexual relations with a child. My brother in law was killed there by meth heads with baseball bats. Neighbors never went out to help and he sat out in the cold all night until morning before anyone called. When they called they said they heard the screaming but didnt pay much attention to it. The drugs is terrible there and with the drugs comes other crimes. Our place was broken into in the middle of the night. When we awoke we ran into the babies room to find this guy who was messed up on drugs standing in the babys bed. I moved from there 15 years ago and only miss my friends nothing else.

i totally agree with you ,my son is handicapped an he went to hancock til the 6th grade an because the high school did not want to put him in a self contained class room he had to go all the way over in afton to attend south view\ school.i was not happy with that idea ,he went to south view for one year then we moved out of lemay to a nice wonderful small town community in south east mo.the school is very small an he's actually getting the one on one help he deserves.
