They should keep her in her jail cell without any food! What a piece of crap. How low do you have to be to sell cat food for drugs! I hope she is never allowed to run any kind of shelter again.

This is disgusting. I have known of Ginny in the past, and I am totally shocked by this. I really thought that she cared for the cats in her shelter. Maybe she did at one time, before drugs? That being said, I agree with keeping her in a freezing cell with zero food. That ought to help her kick her drug habit

Heroin! Imagine that! How a person can do that to defenseless animals all because of that d### drug! I sent points to that lady for food for the cats and she sold it for DRUGS! Animals suffered and died because of their habit. I know first hand the pain that drug causes when my child became involved in it. They don't care as long as they can get the next fix, steal, lie, whatever, just as long as they get that fix. I hope the 2 of them suffer severe withdrawel from it, they might then feel the pain the cats did. But some died a slow and painful death. Hope they feel the pain big time.

What's even worse is that Ruth Steinert SPCA is involved. Their facility is in no better condition than that of the place where the cats are being taken from. This is a no win situation for the animals involved. What a shame all the way around.

Animals are another human being. I doubt the Humane Society will take any of the cats they dont really care about animals now and days look what they did to the cemetary. The Ruth Steinert SPCA does what they can with what they have to work with at their current location. The actually have land in Ravine, and a slab already down for a new building. The problem is funding. Most of the funds, donations etc go to the other SPCA in the area. If you want to see deplorable conditions someone should check out the OTHER SPCA. RSM does all they can with all they have to work with, and are trying to improve conditions, which are not all that bad. The animals are clean healthy and cared for and that is what matters most.

I have had many of my cats spayed/neutered by Cats with No Name and have been waiting patiently for it to start back up. The intent of the program was fabulous and well needed since there are so many cats that need the services. I have offered my support to Ginny many times and also offered to financially support the cause. Thank GOD I never heard back from her. I cannot believe she would allow this to happen!!!

In the early 1980's there was an episode at the spca on hillside, it made the radio, paper, and was going to go to court but dropped.
A man went up there, saw all the dogs outside in the cages, and a few hundred rats (RATS) eating al the dogfood from the bowls. The man called the state police which went up there, they told him to take one of the dogs,(a doby) who was so tramatizes it was on top of the doghouse shaking.
the next day the spca called the state police and reported the dog was stolen. the state police explained on what happened and the spca said;
"we have had that rat problem for many many years,
what we do is dump bags of dogfood over the bank to kep the rats down the bank, sometimes we have an exterminator come up and he only kills a few, but then hundreds come back, in the mean time we want that dog back and the man arrested for stealing it"
The state police said "they" told the man to take the dog; they will contact him and tell him to return the dog.
the dog was returned under threat of prosecution.

It would seem that that entire area is infested with rats!
The spca getting all that food (bags apon bags) dumped to keep the rats at bay, obviously dont realize that rats when they have a warm place to stay, food and water will repopulate at extreme rates. feeding them will only bring hundreds more.
So this animal abuse is nno surprise!
The spca (both at hillside and at the zerby airport) are not controlled, they are not being inspected, they are not being made to provide for the animals in a safe clean environment.
The best thing to happen is the both of them should be shut down.
Drugs are a minor situation, the pressing situation would be the welfare of the animals.

Would like to let all our supporters know that even after being investigated for over 11 months by the district attorneys office of schuylkill county, The PA state department of charitable organizations, The Pa state veterinarian board, PA dog law, Four different counties of cruelty officers,numerous animal shelters in PA, The PA better business bureau,and local and state police, on March 14th 2008 the investigations were formally closed and we were sent notification that NOT ONE charge was going to be made. We want to thank all of those who stood by us and especially the owners of this site for allowing our side of the story.

Its sad that charges were filed against her in august of 2007 and nothing was done. Yes she was inspected by Four different counties of cruelty officers,and numerous animal shelters in PA. But they all made appointments do these inspections. Why not just show up unannounced? Think of how much suffering could have been avoided if the proper action was taken by these agencies!
