Manhattan Beach City Councilmen Nicholas Tell and Richard Montgomery are out of touch with our community. Why did they want to divide our community by granting a one-time special privilege for a privileged wealthy handful to have alcohol in a beach party tent while the community is relegated outside where alcohol is prohibited. This would have set a bad precedent. They knew that city law and county policy prohibited this.

Tell and Montgomery have insulted all residents and have failed as leaders. Councilman Montgomery, your silly, made-up “statistics” are absurd and you know it. And your inappropriate (“B.S.”) language is disgraceful. Shame on you.

Thank you City Councilmembers Howorth, Powell and Lesser who had the courage to vote “NO” on behalf of our entire community and put a stop to this nonsense. We can now look forward to the city’s May 19th Centennial Parade and Community Picnic that is free and open to everyone.

I agree with you. The conduct of Montgomery and Tell is despicable and should be rebuked.

The walkway to nowhere is a dumb idea and a waste of money. Now that idiots Tell and Montgomery are gone, kill it. Spend the money on real handicapped access.
