A good friend told me that while he was at Cori's vigil, a young woman walked up to him and said she knew who killed Cori. Of course he was as shocked as I was when he told me the story. Apparently there is a couple who live nearby the Bac St. Just a couple of blocks away. They were good friends of Cori. The guy used to beat on his girl and Cori, sweet, strong protective Cori, would always
get in between them to stop his physical assaults on her. It was learned that this same couple spent SUNDAY night in Big Bear. Maybe this monster and his girl, who weren't fighting at the time, ran into Cori after
she was denied entrance into Bogeys. Perhaps they went to their apartment to drink or whatever, it is possible that the couple started arguing, Cori jumped in and the guy hurt Cori. Not hurt her, murdered her. How
convenient to be going to the mountains, finding a spot where no traffic was and dump my friends body, in a spot that by all rights, she wouldn't have been found in for a very long time. What is really interesting is the fact that in that same few days I was talking to a young woman on the other side of town about this heinous crime and she also
mentioned this couple, who were friends of hers, who also knew Cori. Who is this couple because this seems to me like something the cops should be investigating. Oh yeah, the female half of the couple is "Trish" Don't worry Mark, we WILL get this monster, if it's the last thing I do in my life. I love you guys
If this is even remotely plausible call the pd. Asap.

More facts revealed. The public needs to know more about this tragedy. I do not think that withholding information helps uncover the truth. I think this story is getting swept under the rug. For what the public knows about this case, Cori could have been accidentally hit by a drunk driver.

We miss you and love you Cori. I was a Bac Street patron during the time that Cori was a bartender there, and for a while when she was a paying customer. She had the light of God in her smile and thunderous laughter. Cori was a dynamite bartender, an all-star singer, and one of the most all-around brilliant people I've ever known.

I can't really claim to have been a close friend of Cori Desmond, but she touched my life nonetheless. She always seemed to be surrounded by people who just wanted to be near her. Cori had that magnetic personality that drew people to her. I only got to converse with her one-to-one on a few occassions - perhaps when it was slow at the bar, or during a lull in the action. Because of the quiet circumstances, I believe I got to see a side of her that only her family and close friends knew: Cori was a kind, intelligent, and sweet person. Make no mistake about it. Bac Street regulars of that period (mid'05 to mid'07, roughly) all knew and adored the "public" Cori. But I feel blessed to have spent some quiet time with her. We talked about our jobs, aspirations, and plans for the future - things like that. Cori was totally unique. I loved her and always looked forward to seeing her at Bac Street - even if I didn't talk to her. Her presence alone was enough to brighten one's evening.

The tears just won't stop. We all miss you and love you so much sweetie! Drinks and hugs are on me the next time we meet ...

I am hoping it is because they are doing good solid police work and they are building a solid case. Hit by a drunk driver...and then what?? From Bogeys to her car is a decent walk and def. not safe after 2:00 on Artesia

drunk driver certainly is possible, but not likely. a drunk driver would not have the mental capacity to try and hide her body by driving 100 miles away and dumping her on the side of the highway. whoever did this needs to be hung inthe middle of the busiest intersection and left to die

But they just released a 10k reward for information on the capture of the killer, so I would not think they are building a solid case.

For roughly 9 years young Cori was a part of my life. Even then she had a beautiful smile. I new Mark, her mom Debbie and little brother Blake. We had some wonderful times together. Although many years have gone by I have such fond memories of those times and I can't for a minute imagine the pain. My heart breaks for you Mark and your family. I hope you find some comfort in knowing that Cori is in heaven and as long as she has the love of each of you, she will live life in the hearts of you. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. The services are being scheduled today. They will put an update as soon as anyone knows for sure. But please try to remember, this is someone's child you are talking about(Adult).........please think before you write, some of these comments hurt the family & friends of Cori. She was young and full of Life, don't most young people enjoy going out at night? Please don't judge her you have no right. She worked there for years & wasn't afraid of the neighborhood.Know matter what she didn't deserve to to murdered.Cori deserved so much better out of Life than what she got.I LOVE YOU CORI.

Thank you Leslie, and yes I agree some of these posts are simply mean and uncalled for. She felt safe, and shouldnt be blamed for what happened to her. Sure she was out late,(to some) and near some bars, so... doesnt mean she brought this upon herself. Someone decided to end her life, that person and sorely that person should be held accountable, not the scene, not the bar, not her family and certainly not her.

RIP Cori- South Bays Daughter!

My sister knew Cori. I am touched to the loss that my sister and Cori's family has. If I hear anything I will be sure to help out with as much as I can. Cori's case will find justice.
