What? Realtors are going to absorb this tax out of the kindness of their hearts? Right!
Why not they sock it to buyers on every sale in some way or another. They are only looking out for themselves

Real estate AGENTS work for a brokerage which pay the business tax. While in many ways they are independent they are actually paid through their brokerage after all fees are deducted etc.

Should salesman/service personel for a company be taxed as a business? I wonder what other cities do.

David J White is unethical. He sold us a home that had undisclosed dry rot and electrical problems which he knew about. He filed for bankruptcy when we sued him.

Of course Richard Montgomery is for the realtors. He's a real estate appraiser who is hired by the realtors and he also received political contributions from them. Don't bite the hand that feeds you and do anything to please them. The Daily Breeze should have disclosed this.
Richard Montgomery was ordered by the state to surrender his real estate appraisers license and pay $20,000 in fines and restitution. This is the official order: http://www.orea.ca.gov/acc/022371_Dec_2013011... .

Gee.... There just isn't enough taxes being paid by the People. California at the State, County and City levels, need to come up with some more ideas to tax us just a little bit more. See what happens when you vote for liberals/democrats? Tax & spend freefall.......... California is dying.
There just AREN'T enough taxes being paid. Yes, I am the grammar police. Well, you can always pay more for water, or gas or electricity. Or you can let some of these realtors pay a business tax.
Believe me, if you own your own independent brokerage, you pay business tax. As well as a fee to be a member of the board of realtors, and error and omissions insurance. You also have to pay your own health insurance. Some of these realtors are agents in name only. I think they believe it's a part-time hobby. They sell two houses every five years. The serious realtors work full-time, and their sales show it. As with anything, you get out what you put in. In fact I think it would be pretty good to get these slacker agents back to working at Kohl's or Walmart. I don't even know how they survive. Oh, I forgot I do know! They live on their credit cards.
Some of them haven't had a sale in so long that the ladies at the escrow office wonder if they dropped off the face of the earth.
