This "compassionate release" nonsense of letting animals out early because of illness is the biggest bunch of bullkrap. I say we give him the same amount of compassion he showed Officer Siebert and put a bullet between his eyes.

The article says if he was allowed out it would save the state the cost of his medical treatment. Come on, if allowed out he will go on MediCal and the state will still pay for it! Remember the Lockibe bomber. He blamed his killing the officer on his taking herion - so whose fault was that?

Good. Glad to hear it. Some justice but too bad he wasn't executed in 1968

Doesnt it seem funny that this 'tough guy' is now asking for 'compassion'? You get what you give. what a POS.

Lets hope that O'Brien suffers a long and painful death. Then burn his body, and sprinkle his ashes in the nearest port-a-potty.

Jeez, how could this even take up newspaper space.

Can you imagine if he was released? Let him die of piece-of-sH&#-itis or whatever he has.

When he asked to be heard, they should have thrown a chair at him! What a stupid, mean person.

I agree! I mean, I am sure when his family and community heard he was given a life sentence, the thought that he would eventually die in there would somehow make it acceptable (instead of the death penalty). Let his punishment be finished.

If he were black I'm sure the Obama admin would have freed him by now. Just like Holder dropped the case against the New Black Panthers.

This poor excuse for a human being deserves what he gets. He is compassionless and unremorsful for the dastardly deed that he did. Why in the world would anyone want to give this POS any kind of consideration what so ever???

I'm with you BG. He should've died 40 years ago.

Don't digress. You don't have to let the "I can't believe we have a black president" hate in you seeth every moment. I don't care for him neither, but you need to quit the "black people get double standards" junk.

Any life is a life....whether it was a cops, child’s, enemies, whoever’s life you took, it is still a life.

The law says he should have the opportunity the be released because he is dying, but they revoke that cause he killed a cop. I don’t agree with that.

He did the crime, and has paid his dues by doing the time, for the last 40 years...

Give the man a chance to see the day of light! He has already paid his debt to society!

Not a chance in hell!!! This dirt-bag committed premediated murder as he told the clerk that he planned to kill anyone who got into his way. Are you saying that the cops life is only worth 40 yrs.??? When did you start putting a value on a human life??? This guy IS a career criminal. He needs to die right where he is. NO compassion for this POS. This guy is a very HARD case and he needs to be treated that way as well. If he wants to see the light of day, let him look out the window. But that is all that he is going to get!!!
