Sorry I missed the "game." By all accounts it appears that having a cream puff pre-season schedule really has its just rewards. The winner of the game is the one who scores the most points by any means possible. Time of possession, yardage gained, offensive plays from scrimmage are nice arguing points, but the winner is still the one with the most points. Three yards and a cloud of dust is so old fashion.

Great teams don't let bad things happen very often. Boise State should never have been in position to get into OT with Nevada, but they were spoiled by playing an inferior schedule for most of the season. Does that sound familiar?

yeah, walsh your offense RAN the ball at will, and you go to the pass near the endzone!! what the he77 were you thinking? you had the right game plan called and you didn't stick to it!! and that coach who ran after the official after the game was bush, he should have ran to you and asked why you stopped running the ball!! the coaching staff blew this game, plain and simple. you luck finally ran out. this team was capable of going all the way, to bad the coaches didn't know how to win it.

Funny, up 10-7, with seven or so minutes left in the 3rd quarter and we have a first down inside Venice's 20? I am feeling pretty good about our chances......then the wheels come off the bus and we are looking at the short end of a 35-10 score...unbelievable!
Although I can certainly agree that we do not play a strong preseason schedule, I don't think that was a deciding factor in this game. Waaaaay too many mistakes on offense and three great plays by some great Venice athletes took us out. I guess the most frustrating part is that this was a game we should have won and not an upset opportunity lost.
But Oklahoma Fan said it best by saying that at the end of the game it is the final score that matters and it was not in our favor. How we played, whether we domnated or not, how many penalties were called are all irrelevant.
Time to regroup, say goodbye to our seniors (thanks guys), and work towards next year.......and of course make the trip to Carson next week to root on the Marine League.

What? You tough Pirates can't take a bit of trash talking since you dish it out and play dirtier than any other team in the city?
What a bunch of wimps. NO ONE likes you guys because you're rude and arrogant.
Sounds like Venice gave the Pirates exactly what the deserved during and after the game!

Well said, what can we say? Once again a season of ups and downs ends with frustration. I felt with our ball control and pounding running game we were going to win this game...UGH.....next stop, Carson....GO COLTS!

You can take the kids and parents out of the ghetto but you can't take the ghetto out of the parents and their offspring. Pedro once again embarassed itself and had to get maced. You cannot domesticate the wildlife in San Pedro it appears. Some things never change. Board that zoo up once and for all.

Animal, I was at the game......I don't care who you are, but when you taunt the losing team and celebrate in an unsportsmanlike fashion that's where the "ghetto" actions of the Venice team was displayed. I'm not here to defend our boys because we had a chance to win the game and didn't. Congratulations to Venice, but something tells me there will be no celebrating next week vs. Crenshaw....."Karma" is a cruel.....hopefully, they will not run up the score on you next week becuase its gonna be ugly.

I find it very interesting that the fact that a san pedro player punched a venice player in the face during the handshake line is being glossed over in the daily breeze. Last year when venice refused to shake narbonnes hand after we beat them this same paper had no problem making factless insinuations that narbonne had done something wrong.

I'm gonna assume that the punch was provoked judging by the horrible sportsmanship that venice showed narbonne last year, but regardless, the fact that a san pedro player threw a punch that resulted in a mele with police using pepper spray should get a lot more coverage than the story on the daily breeze site.

It's funny how people come on these posts to get a good little banter going and then we get people like you....who, first of all don't know how to spell or worse yet....don't even know how to properly write a sentence.....that's ok, I know you won't post next week when the "Shaw" humbles you! Good Luck !

All-Star....is that what happened ?...I was recording and zoomed in at the exact spot where the "melee" started and I can honestly say that I cannot tell who started it, but I'm sure the one's who did know exactly who was the culprit. If it was a Pedro player as an Alumni I am ashamed that we would stoop this low. I can understand a players frustration, but doing this is not what sportsmanship is about and should not be tolerated. I did notice during the game that the Venice players were taunting our players and it could have just been male testosterone and knowing that our season was over just a little too much to handle....either way, you are correct and I agree that the Daily Breeze should report accurately especially when they are on the sidelines and have a front row seat to all the action......

Nope, not in english class....but, sometimes us somewhat educated people here have to read your post a few times to understand what you are trying to say...I'm just sayin...and just to help you out a little more, when referring to losing in present tense and speaking on our behalf we would refer to it as a "Loss"...and not LOST. Good Luck next week ....
