But I doubt that's what you meant because you are a MORON Habitat for Humanity can build a house in as little as 5 days, but thats really not the issue. My original comment only meant that they should be able to get a tent up in the next two months, I don't not why you took issue with it. Let's quit all the name calling, you don't know me and I don't know you, so how can either one of us call the other a MORON. I don't like being called names, and I really don't like to call other people names. I know that you are probably a really nice person, so I surrender. Please accept my appology for calling you a MORON.

Please accept my appology for calling you a MORON. Habitat For Humanity has only built a house in 5 days as a publicity stunt to promote their program. It was a logistics nightmare that pretty much backfired on them. Their average start to finish time is around 60 days. Comparing building a single house to the amount of work left at Alpine Village to finish the Beer Garden area is simplistic and childlike. The same mound of dirt covered with the tarp has sat there unmoved for over a month now. There is much grading still left to be done. Underground utilities have to be installed before paving can even start. Inspectors have to o.k. every phase, and that takes time. And once that is all finished, your "quickie" little tent can be propped up. The "quickie little tent" is more of a project than you think it is. The same kind of tent you used in Camp Fire Girls won't work. Bottom line is Habitat For Humanity would not be able to pull this off even as another publicity stunt - and neither will Alpine Village. Whether you not realizing all of the above when you made your original statement makes you a MORON or not is up to the individual. I know what my opinion is.

Please accept my appology for calling you a MORON. The habitat project in San Pedro took months to complete. There was a big hoopla and the one week build party when Carter visited, but those houses were not by any stretch done in a week. It's not a matter of throwing up a tent. There has to be electricity, water, food and beverage service areas that must meet health code standards, handicapped access, a lot more than a pop-up sun shade.

I can pitch a tent in just a few seconds if the right female walks by. (Someone had to say it)

If they plan on holding Oktoberfest in the new Beer Garden when it is finished, they will have to rename it Decemberfest or Januaryfest, or probably even Februaryfest.
Since Oktoberfest is one of the main money makers for Alpine Village, it will no doubt be celebrated in one of the restaurants.
Not the same atmosphere as the Beer Garden was. This will be yet another nail in Alpine Village's coffin.

I give. Comments have now become no more than a bunch of personal attacks. I don't really care if there is a tent or not. No MONEY in my pocket, no MONEY out of my pocket. I actually quit going to the Oktoberfest once the swapmeet moved in.

Just a thought.

Zoe, your "agenda" is crystal clear. You have no idea how transparant you are.
----------
"totally disagree with this statement the Rotter's are "the problem" and Hans is sick so he can not get involved let him go on a vacation with his wife and enjoy life
p/s: they have now the right Chiefs and the Indians are doing a great job "
----------
This was your earlier statement (unless someone else is posting using your name).
Your obvious "agenda" is that you had a problem with the Rotter's management and now want to make it seem like "Everything will be so much better now, it will be peachy keeno, Oktoberfest will go on as planned, the Beer Garden will be finished because there are the right Chiefs and Indians now"
Your wish is not that Alpine Village succeed, your wish is OBVIOUSLY that Alpine Village succeed without the Rotters.
That is your "agenda".

I write with reference to the article entitled “What’s going on at Alpine Village?” by Staff Writer – Nick Green, on 6/26/08.
I felt the article was skewed, biased, and somewhat smug.
If a business survives and is profitable for forty years, someone must be doing something right – that “someone” is, and has always been, Hans & Terry Rotter. In addition, Alpine Village is well known for it’s charitable contributions to the community.
Hans & Terry Rotter have been the backbone and founding inspiration for Alpine Village since its inception. Their hard work, endless dedication, not to mention their visible and personable presence not only made Alpine Village – but unquestionably – put it on the map! Alpine Village has been a tax paying solid contributor to the South Bay & Torrance economy.
While the redevelopment plan may have gone awry, throwing the baby out with the bath water seems even more ill conceived.
As for the board placing the (Rotter) daughter and son-in-law in charge, talk about ill conceived! I am not aware of any practical and applied business acumen that either of these two has to offer, or to draw from. Unfortunately the livelihoods of all the employees at Alpine Village must not depend and rely this? If it wasn’t so pathetic, it would be laughable.
All businesses have challenges and struggles. No management team is perfect or flawless. It is my prediction that the board of Alpine Village will live to regret their lack of foresight and vision. Without Hans & Terry, Alpine Village has no passion, no personality and worst of all, no heart!
