Police work 101. Have Bobko show you the gas, electric, water & phone bills for the 19th street address, if they're close to what could be considered average usage for that type of dwelling, then case closed. If they show only the minimum flat rate with no additional usage then it calls for further investigation. You're welcome.

Unions have a "group think" and close ranks quickly to protect their precious pensions that are bleeding our state dry. They will push hard for more even in the face of rising deficits and bankrupt municipalities. As honorable as we like to (hope) believe our public safety employees are, at the end of the day they are still a union. They will engage in intimidation, strong arming, guilt campaigns and subtle warfare against elected officials who stand in their way. This could very well be what is happening to Bobko.

Ok, now that your wife and kids are impressed with your Columbo routine, you can go to bed. But rest assured, the DA's office (who would be investigating this, NOT the police) are probably head over heels thankful for your expertise. If you knew anything about Police Work 101, you would actually know who investigates these types of cases genius! And no, you're welcome.

It is an open secret that the Hermosa Beach police and fire unions would do or say anything to keep their cushy jobs.

http://www.hermosabch.org/residents/docs/W2%2...

Corey Glave is a snake who has bled the residents of Hermosa Beach dry for years. Some "journalist" ought to make a list of the lawsuits filed by Glave for the union members over the last 10 years. You could add to it the administrative things, grivences etc.

But it's good for the DA to start poking around in Hermosa. Maybe they will trip over some of the police problems ... Maybe a corrupt ex-Mayor ..

The real lesson here is that it will be tough to get rid of blood sucking bureaucrats. We have ceded way too much power and these guys won't go quietly into the night.

Hermosa Beach ought to get rid of both the police and fire departments. It should contract with other agencies.

Just watch, these characters will be slinging mud at everyone in town before this is over.(And this is just the beginning, not the end.)

And while they're at it, the DA ought to check the residence of every other elected offical in Los Angeles County. They will find politicians who really live outside their districts, not just this little school yard fracas.

Oh, and this is an impressive show for the accreditation of the police department. Wow, you couldn't ask for better timing.

Put your best foot forward, guys. Show everyone who you really are.

Bobko is a former Air Force Academy graduate and Air Force Captain. He has done more for his country than any unionized Hermosa Beach Fire Fighter (they don't even fight fires anymore). They just don't like their total pay getting listed on the city web site so everyone can see how the Police and Fire Depts fleece the public. Fire (pardon the pun) all of them!!

Maybe someone should look into Hermosa Beach for fraud of their officers also. Whatever happened to the cop that ran into someone then screamed like baby? They are all losers and liars..

How about I teach you a firm lesson in respect101?
I wouldn't expect anything less than a ghetto response from you, especially when you're confronted with the truth. Respect? Sorry, I don't think misrepresenting the truth is respectful either. And ease up tough guy! You're not scaring anyone with the tough guy routine from the safety of your keyboard!

Free Bobko!

Seriously, this guy is a good dude. One of the few decent ones left in local politics. Union members are just being butthurt douches.

If you ever took reading comprehension you would note that my reference to police work 101 was to suggest that anyone with a minimum of intelligence could figure out the truth in this little drama. Nowhere did I mention a police investigation, an investigation yes, but not a police investigation. So get off your high horse before your lack of reading skills becomes even more apparent.

When is Redondo Beach and Manhattan Beach going to post their pay???? You thought that Hermosa Police and Fire are well paid, wait until you see RBPD and MBPD. Hermosa is the lowest paid of the three!!!!

And RPV too! Hermosa Beach and Bobko are heros for putting right out there in public the exact pay all of the city employees. How about the Para Medic who makes $170K a year?? What a rip off of the residents. The unions hate Bobko and he should be praised.

Check Bobko's telephone records from the address. Verizon or AT&T has records of all local calls made even if flat rate service. He must have Internet service. Check his Internet usage from the location. Check his cable or Satelite usage for TV. Pay per View items will show he's been there.

But why does a municipal attorney live in a dumpy apartment (been less than $1400 at the beach, must be dumpy) for 10 years? Those attornies make big bucks. Seems odd but to each his own. He may just be an odd nut. Hermosa Beach has had kooky councilmen for years. How did he get elected? The town is going down the drain fast. All you read is of Hermosa lawsuits and alcohol this and that for the city. Screwed up place. DA propbably should investigate the city gov as a whole instead of just this business of where Bobko is living.

you did mention "police work 101"!! Either way I'm sure who ever is investigating this has more skill in their big toe than you have in your whole body from watching columbo. Stick to what you know, "would you like cheese on that"!
