Duggar brood keeps growing with No. 19 on the way

Full story: The York Daily Record

No. 19 caught Michelle Duggar by surprise. The 42-year-old mom of 18 noticed that she wasn't losing weight -- even though she and husband Jim Bob were on Weight Watchers -- and her youngest child, 8-month-old Jordyn-Grace, was fussing while nursing.

"Thank you lord"?
Please - why - how - when there are broken families the world over, people starving, some people who want to have children biologically can't and struggle for years and sometimes never succeed, can one couple be this unconscionably arrogant to think that they have somehow been given a blessing to reproduce like this?
Let's be clear - our great grandparents had 12 children because sometimes many did not survive; we don't have this problem anymore.
And to have - oh, nevermind.
I can't grasp the self-importance of this situation.

For somebody as relgious as this lady seems to be, and as a mother of 18, I'm surprised that she found the time to copulate. Thank God they're hosing folks in the real estate game and don't need to go on welfare. Judging by their fetish for names begining with "J", I'd say these folks are quite insane....and insanity can be genetic. This is just what Arkansas needed, more Judeo-Christian nutjobs. Bless their pointed little heads!

This is just my opinion, but maybe this couple just likes having "babies" around. No one can handle 18 kids on their own.
I'll bet that most of the responsibility of tending to the younger ones falls on the shoulders of the older kids. And that's not fair.

While watching the show I've noticed it's true, unfortunately, that a lot of responsibility does go to the older kids. It isn't right. There's no way their mother can handle that many children and she shouldn't force it onto the older ones. Now she's adding another one for them to look after. While I do think it's OK for older ones to help out once in a while, they shouldn't be burdened with it every day. Every kid should have the opportunity to enjoy just being a kid as long as they can, not be surrogate mom and dad to 10+ younger siblings.

They don't receive any payments from the govt.
They live very frugal lives. And yes, the older kids seem to get stuck with the younger ones.
Since their not asking for help from anyone, I say leave them alone.

I'd rather see this family pop out responsible, hard-working children that will likely support themselves for the rest of their lives, rather than these welfare bastards popping out children that will be on medical assistance and disability for the rest of their lives.

Seriously, the guy I know here with 27 kids is not supporting his...They are a bunch of freaks, but they are managing without handouts...I agree, the older ones are always helping to raise the kids and that prevents them from being kids themselves./...

If they wanted a large family, why not adopt some of the children who wander through foster care and need a loving home. That would be putting their faith into action.

To me having a child and raising that child is one of the most wonderful things on earth. A child needs attention from their parents and I don't see how they are able to provide this. I remember watching their TV program when they had their 16th child and they said that they spent 1000.00 a week on food. I remember thinking at the time. Where do they get their money? 4000.00 a month on food, not counting all of the other expenses...is unbelievable. Also, are they paying for health insurance on their family. OMG...

I agree this woman is crazy but hey, they are happy, healthy and self supporting, not needing a handout from the government. And yes, the older children do have a lot of responsibilities but I do believe our grandparents and great grandparents younger days were much like that too.

Daily Horoscope for January 2

Virgo

It's okay to have high expectations, but try to keep in mind that no one can be all things to all people. As the Moon spends one last day in its current sign, it urges you to find a way to recognize others for their strengths, and forgive them their weaknesses. Virgoans' idiosyncrasies must look like strange quirks from the outside as well! Fate ties up the loose ends towards the end of the day.
