Quite frankly, if I lived in Mexico and the US being just north of me, I'd have moved here as well - green card or not.
Eleven generations ago my grandparents did the same thing. It happened instead to be from Europe aboard a ship called the Mayflower in the early 1600s. The native Americans here then must have thought they couldn't have trusted them as well - that is until we killed them off, or shipped them off to the "relocation camps" (charitably called "Reservations").
