On Saturday, Republican presidential candidate and Texas Congressman Ron Paul won the Nevada Republican Assembly's Straw Poll with 39 percent.

Dr. Paul had more than double the support of John McCain who received second place with 15 percent of the straw poll vote. Over ninety people voted in the poll, which was held on Saturday afternoon on the second day of the Nevada Republican Assembly's Presidential Endorsing Convention.

Apparently you took a long nap, missing the past
week.

The nation was unimpressed with the results of
the Straw Family Reunion's opinion poll and the
7-11 down the street is sending a bill for the
box of straws taken from the stand by the slurpee
machine.

Paul had 10% in Iowa, 8% in New Hampshire, and
6% in Michigan .... about where it will probably
stay with perhaps an occasional deluge of votes
in a state or two that will swell his percentage
to maybe 8%.

Paul knows the truth. He thought a coffee shop
in Nevada was a better campaign stop than
actually going to Michigan.

Hope you have a round trip ticket.....

Snippet" and that could pave the way for a strong finish, perhaps even first place, by Republican Ron Paul. The Texas congressman has been on TV and radio in the state for a long stretch. http://apnews1.iwon.com/article/20080116/D8U7 ...

Thank You, Nevada! Ron Paul Gets the Silver in the Silver State

The hard work and dedication of our Nevada campaign and supporters has paid off with a second place finish — thank you! We beat the pollsters’ expectations and, of course, we beat McCain, Huckabee, Thompson, Giuliani, and Hunter. Here’s our news release:

RENO, NEVADA – Ron Paul finished second in the Nevada Republican presidential caucuses today, defying recent polls that had the Texas congressman finishing in fourth, fifth or sixth place.

According to results reported on the Nevada GOP’s website, Congressman Paul placed second with 13 percent, topping John McCain, Mike Huckabee, Fred Thompson and Rudy Giuliani.

“Ron Paul has once again topped multiple media-anointed ‘frontrunners’ with his poll-defying second place showing in Nevada,” said Ron Paul campaign chairman Kent Snyder.“We’re in this race to win, and we’re going to battle for every delegate in this wide-open race for the Republican nomination.”
