I'm 60 years old and will soon retire on a fixed income and Tonopah, AZ happens to be the most affordable location. Why would we want to incorporate which invites more taxes and regulations. I moved from Phoenix for that very reason to avoid more taxes and regulations. Why can't they leave us alone. That's why most of us live here. The people who are concerned about schools, roads, utilities, etc should stay closer to the city.

I agree with Judith. The people out there can bearley run there own property now they think they can run a city. I guess it's not hard to run 25 people. They would cry when it came to the ordinace to keep the yards clean, old cars, dogs on leashes,Running water, sewer, trash and power. It would cost them more to clean up the place then to make a city.

As a former resident of Tonopah, I can tell you that incorporation is simply not necessary nor is it desirable for the 68 square mile area. Old Tonopah Joe and me saw eye to eye on this issue. One large reason I'm a former resident was the 35% property tax increase by Maricopa County, which once again showed the level of greed in and around Phoenix present since the superbowl was held in Tempe. Also 1/2 of southern California moved into the area, so now the tax base is larger, which for an honest government structure is more reason not to incorporate. All things considered; I wish the residents of Tonopah the best that life has to offer.
