Juvenile Shot in Toney

A juvenile was shot in Toney, Alabama after allegedly breaking into someone's home.

Why are the parents of these teenagers not teachng them...Thou shall not steal? Someones sons are in deep trouble.The ten commandments say....Thou shall not steal.

It's not enough just to say they are juveniles! This is a half written news report! Age of the suspects? Race of the suspects? Let's see some better full coverage reporting and some statistical information.

Their ages and race do not matter. They were breaking into another person's home to steal another's property, which they DO NOT have a right to take. Too bad that both didn't get their butts shot off. Thank God the homeowner's right to keep and bear arms is protected under our constitution, and a right that Obama wants to take from all of us.

I'm a firm believer in the old saying-- "That 2 to the chest and 1 to the head will eliminate repeat performances by thugs preying on good people". I live far enough from town that the police need about 8-10 minutes for a response time. So in reality defending my home is up to me. Once you leave the county road approaching my property, you have entered 'my zone' and you are in an area that has been recoitered, yardage markers placed, and every inch is well within my range and ability to defend. I practise all the time, learned that from my years with Uncle Sam. So if you choose to come on my property-I choose how you leave. Alabama defend yourselves its your absolute right to do so. What? If someone comes into your house with (or without a weapon) wouldn't you feel that your life was in danger...or your families life? Plus it does not say if the juvenile's had a weapon!

The way I see it race does matter. If they are african-american it just proves my point that we did not have this bad of a problem in the county until they started migrating from northwest huntsville.

It doesn't matter if the little thug had a weapon or not. My policy is that if you come on my property with the intent to steal or cause harm, when the cops show up, it will be to get your body out of my yard. NO EXCEPTIONS.

How do you know he was no threat. Are you one of those type who will let them in and let them rape your wife or shoot your family before you take action. Or will you pray to your god that everything works out just fine.

This homeowner is going to get slammed by everyone for doing this but I say good for him ! I bet they dont come back and try to break in again! Everyone is going to say "but they were leaving" SURE they were leaving only to return at a later date to finish the Job! Good for you Mr. Homeowner Good for you !

It is nice to read 13 responses and not have one of them (except for one minor sqeeker) pissing and moaning about how the bad guy is being abused by the system or how his rights were violated because he was shot in the back, or how violent the homeowner was by using his gun, etc. etc.

The two would be robbers went with the intent to steal at best, and who knows what they might have done at worst. One of them, for his own efforts, got shot. The other was arrested later. Good.

Thank God in America that AL has not yet succumbed to the notion that people cannot defend themselves and their property and that criminals have all the rights and none of the blame. I hope the homeowner does not get sued (he most likely will) and have to spend thousands of dollars defending himself.

I do not want to see anyone die, but if you are stupid enough to steal, then be prepared for the consequences - up to and including death.

My home was broken into several months ago in Toney and luckily we were not home, but the feeling it still horrible knowing some thug came into my home and stole my things without regard to anyone.
You better believe if me or my husband were home that night they would have gotten 1 bullet to the head!! The two kids that broke into our home were actually white- so race really doesnt matter here. If Obama takes away our rights we are all screwed- get him out of office!!!

Protection is the main issue here and I believe the homeowner did everything right. The thieves were old enough to know right from wrong and chose to do the wrong thing. Now they must pay the consequences for their actions. Maybe if RussB had been the homeowner he may feel differently right now.

You come into my house your leaving only one way.. in a body bag... and maybe in several parts dependning on what the shotgun blast does to your body... I am glad the home owner did what he did.. and if he gets sued the judge should throw out... The thugs gave uop their rights when they tried to steal his stuff to support their drug habit.
