This facility is TERRIBLE!!!! The staff are insipid, obnoxious, and aggressive. They DO NOT LISTEN to you if you have an issue or problem, but are ALL OVER YOU ALL THE TIME about membership drives, deals, and other scams, plus they have TOTALLY CRAZY "managers" and clerks who have nothing better to do than hang around that big desk -- too many cooks in the kitchen, too many morons even for a slick nasty little Buffalo corporation

I have to say i completely disagree with the above statement. We are all entitled to our opinions but to personally judge people and then turn that into an entire business is a bit short sighted. I have been a member at the colvin location since it opened and the Evans BAC prior to that. They seem to have no shortage of members who seem quite happy. When I first started there, there were only about 30 classes, they now have 100. The management staff is also quite helpful and polite. I have never felt pushed around or cheated. I apologize for the above person's experience but have never seen people complain or be upset about anything. Great job colvin, you have earned every cent of my money and will continue to.

"pleased" is obviously written by an employee -- watch out for the BAC, they are OBSSESSIVE about image, and will stoop to ANYTHING to BS their ways through -- they do have a really rude staff out at the Colvin for women place and I would avoid it. Try out the BAC but DON'T SIGN THE CONTRACT!!!! They will treat you terribly as soon as they know you're locked in. NO RESPECT for members. ONLY OUT FOR THE $$$$$. Check out reviews for the downtown and other sites -- LOTS of people have complained about the different sites -- DON'T JOIN THIS CLUB!

STAY AWAY from the BAC for women! I was given a membership for Christmas, I didn't sign up and didn't sign the contract but a 2-year membership was given to me that I am paying for. I injured my knee and will have surgery they refuse to let me out of my contract! I will continue to pay monthly even though I am unable to workout! Terrible expierence. Stay far far away!

the post by disgusted...the manager at the BAC colvin location has been there for 16 YEARS. I know this because I have had conversations with the person you claim to be "insipid". Their management staff has never turned a back on dealing with member issues and concerns. I have personally overheard some of these convesations. I think that they are dealt with in the best manner that the staff is able to.
in responsen to know your game...I find it funny that with a staff that is there 6 days a week that anyone can call them money hungry. They would have to face people everytime they come in and no one would ever refer people to their location. trust me they are not hurting for members. If anything this club is consistently packed. Real unhappy members huh? Signing a contract is a voluntary action. And if you ahve any legal sense any contract has a 3 day cancellation policy by law. So if you were uncomfortable signing something, SPEAK UP, don't regret your decision after the fact and complain, that's not responsible as a consumer.
Before judging anything, go and see for yourself. I often bring friends to the BAC to try is out, they offer the courtesy of a guest pass for anyone who would like to see the club. If you feel this way after making your own informed decision then so be it.

As a member, I know that the BAC has a policy of suspending membership during times of injury with proper documentation from a physician. Your story doesn't seem to make sense unless your physician did not restrict your activity.

Stay away from this place at all costs. I wish I would have read all the reviews and listened to former members before I joined

If you didn't want to sign anything then don't. What was the worst thing about signing a membership...getting in shape. So if you are stuck with it use it, I am a member there and it is always clean, they have a ton of cleaning bottles and towels,so if its dirty that means you aren't wiping off your machine. And
to agree with regarding upset, they do have a injury policy because I used it. So get off the computer and go work out.

I love being a member of the bac. Don't listen to the other reviews...the classes are great and love that they have classes later in the evenings and weekends. Love going to Zumba classes, I go to Colvin and have never had a problem with the staff.

The managers at these locations are money hungry. They will butter you up into signing up for a two year contract. Once signed up, they try to make their own rules and force them on members. I once had a woman come to me and tell me that the manager told her a weigh in and bmi take was not included in her package deal. This was the manger making up her own rules. You can do these things at any time throughout your membership. They also treat their employees like crap. And for the woman a few posts above me that claims that the manager at the colvin location has been there for 16 years, you have no clue what you're talking about, the place hasn't even been open for close to 10 years!!!! Gets your facts straight. These BAC locations are nothing but gold mines!

First of all,the purpose of a contract is that you pay for something ,in agreement ,that no matter what happens down the road...you agree to pay!!!!!!!Your FAULT you bought a two year deal....I bought three months...They tried selling me a year ,but, I told them I wouldnt buy a year membership because you never know what will happen in a year...Injury,illness,death of a family member, your death, moving to another state, loss of a job etc etc...You signed a contract!!!!!!!!!!It's not their fault you were injured!!!!!! Should have used yer brain before you signed up for 2 years!!!! YOUR FAULT....The only person who should pay is YOU...for being ignorant!!!!

I agree, most people who complain about this place,or any place for that matter, are people who just agree to everything because they were too timid to speak up...they ended up not liking it and were too scared to say something in person,so, they used the internet to make themselves feel more assertive....I signed up for 3 months after they tried talkin me into a year.....I told them you never know what will happen in a year so I'm not signing a contract for a whole year!!!!Also,I waited a day to think about whether or not I wanted to sign up!!!! It's no one elses fault, but, yer own, that you felt obligated to join, just because you dont know how to say NO!!!!!

Hmmm..that's odd,I just signed up 2 weeks ago and was expecting some hounding by sales type of people...Yes,they did call my house ONCE,after they knew I might be interested, but I did not feel pressured!!!!If you signed up because you're one of THOSE people who "feel bad" saying no...then that's your fault!!!,NOT theirs!!!!!

As for the cancellation policy, I herniated a disc in my back and could barely stand for 5 minutes. Oh yes they will 'suspend' your contract, but guess what - you still have to pay! They just don't count the months against your contract time. Who cares about that? I finally was able to get my membership cancelled but it was a very painful frustrating process. Healed enough now - 2 years later - and missed the spinning classes - so just got a 3 month deal - but def afraid to sign a contract although I'd love to keep going. It's a nice gym but I do agree the front desk girls can be very snotty. Most of the ladies running the classes are great though and unfortunately I can't find any other gym that has the variety and quality of classes.
