Shame on me, shame on you, shame on all of us that thought a logical superior design would take place on SR179. SR179 is the most outrageous expenditure of tax based funds I have ever witnessed. 100+ Million Dollars for Round-Abouts, Islands, Curbing and Sidewalks. For those of us that live and work in the area it is an absolute nightmare. However those of us that have made statements or complained are told it is to late. TOO LATE? Excuse me, I thought this was our money and a free country. As an Arizona native of 47 years I am seriously wondering if the ADOT planners need to have a mental evaluation. By the time I travel between VOC and Sedona I will have "mess" around vertigo and a minimum additional 15 minutes of frustration plus each way. I cannot imagine the fight against a four lane reasonable speed corridor that would have allowed the three plus million visitors to drive in the right lane in "Red Rock" stupor and enjoyment, while those of us that live here and service there needs can get on with life and business, let alone allowing emergency vehicles a through lane! The Round about design has been touted many times and then ripped out in many parts of the world and our own country! Let alone the preposterous overall design and costs, but now I learn in utter amazement (as I said....shame on me!) that a "Mess-Around" will also be constructed at the "Y" Why? other than complete and utter stupidity I can only imagine. Most people I speak to, shake their heads in perplexed amazement! I love it here, however like several others I know, SR179 may push me away and my money - SHAME ON ME - SHAME ON YOU - SHAME ON US ALL - AND MOST OF ALL SHAME ON ADOT!
