My Father lives in Toms River. He said the whole island of seaside heights has been evacuated. People will be allowed one hour as they will be escorted to houses to get what they can. Then it will be shut down for at least 2 months so it can be assesed and evaluated. There are still gas leaks and live power lines around. They will inspect every property and condem those that need it. After that process people will be allowed into the heights. I talked to him this morning. His area has power. He is about 5 miles west of downtown Toms River. He is a building and zoning expert.

My brother is assistant pastor at the catholic church in Seaside heights and they did not evacuate. They are still there. They have gas stove but no heat or electricity. They are straight across from the police dpt and the police chief stayed too. I havent heard much as his cell went out and he cant recharge it. But he said their church, rectory and cars are okay.
