Saturday I went to the Diversity Buffet in Toms River. I will never go back again. The food is the
worst in ocean county and so is the service. I will never go back again and I am going to tell all my friends.

What is bad service at a buffet? They didn't take your empty plate away as fast as you were shoveling in more food from another plate? STOP GOING TO BUFFETS before they make a tv show about you on TLC.

went for lunch, ok but not great--dinner is the WORST--nothing new on it but crab legs, clams & oysters-same sushi as lunch, no one making it fresh..the one by the A&P in Brick is much better---we were there for 1 hour and they never refilled the crab legs--won't ever go here again....

I couldn't wait to try this place. Before we went I read the reviews. I decided to try it anyway and I'm so happy that I did. It was GREAT! The food was better than Fortune and Diversity offered a better variety of food. The food was not dried out like other buffets that we have been to. It was clean and the staff was very nice. Four adults and one child went and we all loved it. This is going to be the Buffet that we go to from now on.

You are out of your tree.. if you think that stuff in Diversity is better than Fortune Buffet! Fortune Buffet is great..especially the fresh food they cook while you wait.. miles above Diversity's cooks. But even saying that, I will say Diversity's employees are very nice... and they do seem to try..and I can say it seems to improve a bit this last time I went..maybe in time they will get it right with experience. I'm not fussy.. I go with the family where ever they want to go. But, when asked.. Diversity is THE last place I would readily choose.

You need to come to MD if you want decent buffets. The seafood is much better down here and you can even get blue crabs in season.
Oysters, mussels, mmmmmmm!

We have eaten at Diversity 3 times now and have enjoyed each and every visit. We like the variety and many of the items are better than other local buffets. The hibichi grill is excellent The service is efficient and pleasant. I can't believe we just got lucky and happened to go on "good" days. 3 out of 3 ain't bad. As a matter of fact, we will be going to movie and Diversity today (New Year's Day) and are sure we will not be disappointed. Fortune Buffet is up there with us, as well, but due to it's location and the traffic, we go there only when we are in that area.

We went out on Monday night, 11 January 2009, this is the worst food I ever tried. My wife and I found the food terrible!! We went because of the coupon in the flyer for $2.00 off, but now they could not give me a free meal after eating there once. Do not make the same mistake we did. Everything was the worst, the sushi, the chicken w/broc, fried shrimp, and we did not even like the ice cream for dessert, everything must be the cheapest quality and poorly cooked. Trust me, it was the worst we've been!!!!!!

Now, think about the economics/practicality of serve-yourself-buffets. 1) Built on premise that everyone wants to stuff themselves with any food, rather than being selective. 2) Cannot afford to use best seafood/chicken/beef. Uses off-cuts of beef, and dry, dark chicken. And if you load up on rice, which is generally good, isn't the price just a bit too high? 3) Salads are generally okay, as well as fruit. If that is what you would like to eat, go to a soup/salad bar for less money and fresher food.

Am I right?

We found hair in the pudding, but didn't want to chase all the people away so we didn't complain. It made my wife not feel well after that experience. Wondering who's hair it was and where it came from and all that. What else do these most likely illegal aliens have that they drop into our food? It's not funny. We don't go to buffets any longer. We don't eat enough to justfy the means of going anyway.

Place isnt bad if you want to miss the crowds at the fortune buffet. The one huge complaint I have is they are extremely slow at refilling the crab legs. Its like they put in 10 legs at time> this was a big disappointment! We will now go back to Fortune Buffet its worth the wait!

How much is it?
Is there a online menu?
If not, what do they have?
I'm visiting from the Virgin Islands & looking for a buffet other than Chinese(I LOVE Chinese, but I'm sure i'll be all Chinesed out!)
Thanks!

even after reading the mixed comments, I took a chance because the assortment of food sounded good, AND I had a $2off per person coupon. It was the most awful chinese food i've ever ever had. Nothing was hot, everything seemed like it had been sitting there awhile. The floors were a sticky mess. I figured I didn't enjoy any of the food, maybe the desserts would be good. The only thing I enjoyed was the creamy chocolate ice cream..of course..it wasnt made there, thats why. They didnt even get the coupon deduction right, which, of course, I asked them to correct when checking out. Never again. The best buffet is the China Buffett King in Brick, the food is always fresh and hot AND delicious!

i will tell you what ... i agree.
heres what happen to us ...
between the crap service & food looks like it came from the food bank leftovers. the bathrooms were gross & puke all over the floor. my son got food poisoning & to top it off my daughter had a hot beverage dropped in her lap. that is by far the worst place to eat unless you like that kind of service lol. try the places in bricktown or bayville "avoid the health departments worst nightmare"

Why in the world would anyone ever want to eat from a buffet or salad bar? People hover over the food and sneeze, and spread germs. They put their hands in to take things instead of using utensils. That could never be enjoyable dining to me.
I guess all buffet diners just want to eat until they are ready to pop and don't care about the cleanliness.
