To me........this says that if you are an Eagle Scout and kill someone...you will get a
free 'get out of jail' card.

He should also be stripped of his EAGLE SCOUT Honor.
I hold Eagle Scouts in the highest regaurds. But, he is not the type of person that I want my son or nephew to look up to.

Why is it being emphasized that this kid is an Eagle Scout? I don't think stupidity is a trait that the Scouts give out badges for.

And I agree that he should no longer be an Eagle Scout. That's a role that's meant to be looked up to and this kid no longer deserves it. Why wasn't he charged with some form of manslaughter? Any reasonable person knows that playing with fire can end up getting someone hurt if not killed.

Gimme a break. No jail time. This kid must have been wearing his Boy Scout outfit in the courtroom and the judge noticed he was lacking a killer patch.

I really wonder if we are getting the "full story" here. Again the news media will say what they think will generate sales. I'm curious enough that I will go look up the real truth behind what happened. Is this an accident?
I second the vote, he should give up his Eagle status if they don't take it from him. Also, I'm so tired of the media bashing of the Scouts.

Yup, just what I thought. Went in found the complete story of what happened. He was trying to reignite a fire by using a bottle of liquid, the flames shot up onto his arms. He shook his arms spraying liquid and fire onto the surrounding scouts. He is charged with assault. Now, our media makes it sound like murder, this was an accident and there was no "game". Hey if anyone at the paper reads this I'm calling you out on this. Print the truth!

You cannot be stripped of your Eagle Scout status if it has already been given. Hence, an award for life. We have to take the screw ups along with the blessings. We are not perfect.

Yes you can be "stripped" of the eagle award in BSA history this has beed done 9 times. They even firede xecutive director of the Los Padres Council of the Boy Scouts of America who was stripped of his Eagle Scout. Know what your talking about.

Information gotten form BSA only the national committee can strip you of your Eagle. "SANTA BARBARA — A Boy Scout executive was stripped of his Eagle Scout status and fired by the Boy Scouts of America National Council 10 days after he publicly admitted he was a homosexual, his attorney said." source The Berkeley Daily Planet. You can not go by the saying, "once an Eagle always an Eagle", I have been in Scouting for 50+ years my info is correct and researched. This info was also published in the early Scout Handbooks like the one I used when I earned me Eagle but later removed like the ones used by my sons when they earned their Eagle awards. This has been done less than a dozen times the last 100 years of scouting ( not quite 100 but next year ) Where are you getting your information. As stated before my comes from the Boy Scout National office.

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Pisces

Someone is in a very boisterous mood today, and you may want to make yourself scarce after a short spell in their company. Their idea of a joke may be your idea of extreme rudeness, or they could take pleasure in being argumentative just for the sake of it. Don't let this person wind you up or you'll go off pop through sheer tension.
