Yes these farmers on this list aren't any better than a food stamp, check drawer or govt apt building dweller. Matter of fact they are because they are the first ones to throw of on people that do draw checks . Well its nice to know that they are getting paid well with the money that taxpayers broke their backs to make.
In their defense of the farmers that have been outed
on these list's. I think it be only fair that there be a website of exactly how much govt money each individual gets. I mean fair is fair that the farmers get their names and how much money they took from taxpayers. I only think it be equally fair that we see all the people that take taxpayer money. I bet you would not be so mad at the farmers on this list. I by no means think the farmers should have access to this money but I do believe in true transparency.

This is just not right. It boils down to who has the wealth and who does not. maybe there should be a re-spreading of the loot

Everybody should have to make it on their own. I'm not talking about old people or people who cannot take care of themselves, just everybody else who should have to live without a government check. Who taught us that is alright to take what don't belong to us? If you make 200.00 a week, live on that. If you make 2,00.00 a week, live on that. Get the idea? If that isn't enough for you, get a second job. Don't plan on a hand-out from the government. If you do, you are just taking from your children and grandchildren, how can you feel good about that?

NO, its not like welfare for farmers. A lot of that money is for cost share conservation programs that the government asks the farmers to do. They are usually 75% government and 25% farmer. These are consersvtion programs to protect YOU and the environment. Example: farmer does program for government and it costs $50,000.00 ... Farmer pays $12,500 and government pays $37,500. Those are a lot of the big dollar figures you see on that website. Farmer did not MAKE $37,500, he actually SPENT $12,500 (out of his pocket) to help keep your water clean or protect the environment in some way.

But all you see on that website is the fact that $37,500 was issued to the farmer, which actually went to the fenceing crew, backhoe opperator, hardware store (for pipe), feed store (for water troughs), plumber, rock quarry, and many other LOCAL BUISNESSES AND WORKERS.

Where does welfare usually money go?

You would have me believe that a farmer gets $37,500.00. he spends that and then another $12,500.00 out of his pocket for conservation purposes for me. What exactly did he do for me? I would like to know results of the hundreds of millions of dollars that was spent to help me. They got the money, now don't play us for idiots, claiming that they did it for public good. Yep, public good and the $300,000.00 house they live in. I'm not jealous of the $300,000.00 house, I just don't want any of it paid for with a government hand-out. If it really is about conservation, why not find some way to let the small farmer do it, not these guys who already have a ton of money. You don't need a large farm to not raise something, do you?

Very well written. Where does the welfare money go????????? Alot of this money for the farmers was put back into the economy by the farmes like the water programs and fencing programs. The farmer didnot get to keep the money Folks. They had to use it on some type of project.

Even if you are right,True, they still got a lot of money that made their farms more valuable. I'd like to get that kind of deal and spend it on my house to make it better.and more valuable.. I need better windows and that would be saving energy.

Small farmers get it too, they are on the bottom of the list. Small farm = small project ... Big farm = big project.

How does it help you? Do you want to drink water full of cow poop or pesticides?

Obama gives tax credits for people to make their house more energy efficent, look into it.

As a clock puncher I am supposed to feel at ease to see the names of millionaires who receive my money? I would think us low life middle class donate more to the fcking economy than a few millionaire land owners, right?
The working middle class is screwed! We are robbed of what is ours, TAX MONEY and supposed to believe stupid welfare programs like this are helping us? This is another perfect example of if you NEVER work the good 'ol gub'ment will support you for life with food, health care and shelter. To the other extreme, if your wealthy you can also manipulate the system to receive welfare...or subsidy money if you wish to be politically correct.
What a great country!

All welfare recipients are "just taking advantage of what is available", right? Don't worry farm boy, I'm far from jealous of any welfare recipient, that includes you. I sure as he11 don't have to get on here to defend my welfare way of life either. You should take your crusty azz on down to the coffee shop where you'll find someone that agrees with you.

I want to see you all get out and keep the hours that some farmers keep; granted some people on that list are "social farmers", they do it for a tax write off, but I am here to tell you, the ones who are lower on that list break their backs working day in and day out for what they have. They have losses very year because of rain, snow, tornadoes, drought etc., and they keep working the land because someone has to. Where do you think that meat comes from that's in the stores, the vegetables that you eat, the milk that you drink? It's from those farmers who are getting those TWICE A YEAR checks so they can make their farm payments.
Welfare is something that people get each month, do your checking; farm subsidy payments are not each month, twice a year, three times at the most. Calculate how much is costs to operate a farm and compare that to what they get. You will see that the most of them do not get that much.
I could not have said it any better myself.

Some farmers deserve help I agree, but many on here are millionaires with farms on the side or a hobby who got tens of thousands of dollars. If a man has a store on Main St. USA he doesnt get help from Gov. just because his business is bad. He has to cut back, build up business or go out. That is the American way not propping up every genre of the free market that cant make it. Our country is out of control on its spending, too many earmarks so that a local politician somewhere can get reelected. We cant keep up all the other countries that ask for our aid either, people here are going homeless and starving and yet we send billions overseas every month. Good Luck to all!

Exactly, what are these poop projects? It is so hard to believe that it takes that much money in one county to regulate where cows poop. I don't believe some of these people even have cows. And I don't want tax credits for my house, I want the government to go ahead and send me $37,000.00 then I will add $12,5000.00 and spend it all to make things better at my home. If they will do that, I'll not only clean up cow poop but also dog, cat, I won't let poop of any kind get in your drinking water.

You need a clock punching job realllly bad! You will gladly wish for the farm when you're told when you can take a break and when you can leave. There will be no subsidies/welfare for you when the $8 per hour don't cover the house payment. If you would like more examples let me know, there is plenty left....
