I would like to know why our current Chief of Police, J.D. Connerly, doesn't, and has never bought any property in Ector. He recently purchased a house, north of Bonham, past Boyd on highway 78. If he is so concerned with the citizens of Ector (you'd think a Chief of Police would be) you'd think the man would buy a house in town, or nearer to the town to be closer to protecting HIS citizens. Just yesterday, I meet him driving from the Sam Rayburn school district. Does his family have NO ties to the Ector community?? Also, he's been campaigning for Mark Johnson to be elected Sheriff, if God forbids that happens, "Chief" Connerly would promptly leave his post as Chief of police in Ector to work for the Fannin Co. Sheriff Dept. He would be leaving us high and dry. I am just concerned and would like some answers.

I think you need to post this in the Bonham forum to get any response.

I'm totally confused and curious Concerned...

1. Why can a Chief of Police not live in the city that he or she works for and still not do a good job for them.

2. How in the world would you possibly know if the Chief of Police of Ector has any intentions on leaving if Mark Johnson wins the Sheriff's election.

Please do explain.

Because he is going around telling everyone he is going to be the next Lt. of Fannin County... Get a clue that is why Mark wanted him to get that job in Ector so he can help Mark carry Ector. And no he has no ties in Ector. And this is not a rumor heard it out of the horses mouth myself.

You have a right to be concerned. But, from what I am hearing Mark does not have a chance against Foster! I know my families and friends votes are going to Foster.

Anon, if you know this Chief like you imply from your posts, why would he tell you that he is going to the Sheriff's Dept when he would stand the chance of loosing his current job for spreading something like that. I have heard this rumor numerous times and have confronted him about it. He stated that he is in no way leaving the City of Ector to go to the Sheriff's Dept. If you have a question, I don't know why you just don't ask the person as I did, instead of spreading rumors and trying to get something started.

I did ask the source! Both sources. No rumors just the truth. Along with Tredway is going to be his Chief Deputy. not trying to start anything the Concerned Citizen asked a question and Anon just answered their questions. Just like Mr Johnson going up to a couple of young deputies while they were on DUTY working a scene and he was trying to politic to get their vote. The deputies told him they was happy with the current administration and asked him to leave their scene. Mark is starting to cross a line, but as several have stated it will all come out in the wash. So not just one person heard this but several have heard it from the horses mouth. But, I agree with Anon Mark does not have much of a chance. Sheriff Foster is doing a great job and I feel he will be there a couple more terms.

Petty happy with law enforcement in Ector, TX. I live right here in town and I can tell you one thing for sure... no one (at least locals who no better)is speeding or running stop signs anymore. I'm sure this additional funds through citations issued are helping Ector.

I personally know Chief Connerley and I know for a FACT that he is NOT going to go to the Sheriff's dept if Mark Johnson gets elected. He loves Ector and has no desire to leave. He also cares so much for Ector and all the people who live there. Just because he doesn't live in Ector doesn't mean he doesn't care about Ector. If you knew him and his family you would know how devoted they are to the city of Ector. Maybe everyon on here talking bad about Chief Connerley should try getting to know him and you would see what a great officer, person, and family man he is!

I am glad to hear that Ector has a proactive cheif. Just a little FYI, state laws only allow ticket fine money to be used for Police Dept. issues only. The only way he is helping Ector is increasing funds (after the state gets their large cut)for the PD only, not streets, water dept, fire dept or anything else. But at least he is helping to divert more tax money away from the PD to those areas.

I have been hearing a EPD cop with a very strong foreign accent lately on my scanner. Does anyone in the know have any background information on this person. I know he has been making traffic stops on highway 82 one after another when he is on duty lately. No,he has not stopped me,but I just would like to know where he is from because it is very hard to understand him because of the heavy accent.

The Ector PD is a joke, they follow me and Harass me for absolutely nothing. You can't even ride around this shit hole town without getting pulled over. Cop didn't even have a reason after I was stopped, even asked for passengers ID. I think this is beyond stupid. Even out south of Ector riding back roads doing absolutely nothing wrong he followed me and kept stalking me. I finally asked him if he needed something he simply said that it was unnecessary for me to be out there. Just a little rant to get this forum going again

I heard a rumor that the chief had "come out" to some of the locals? Is this true or is he still with his wife? I thought she was in jail

Just like Fannin County. The key word to your statement "RUMOR." I wouldn't believe everything you hear or that you make up yourself.

How he wants to live is his right. I just wondered if he was always gay or this was a recent lifestyle change? Because of all that had went on?

From the times that I have met him he doesn't act or portray himself that way. He has a very loving family and his wife is not in jail. I think you should get your facts straight before commenting because it only makes you look that more stupid.
