Oh, you mean when he made those speeches on the direction this country was heading and offered advice to his son?

I agree again. Churches that take crosses out of the altar to get federal funding, or include abortion coverage in their employee health insurance just to get it are prime examples of the hypocracy. I think they should get no funding. They already get tax free donations don't they? Unless they can account that every dollar goes to charities for the community. But they should get money only from members ,not our tax money. I'm sure some churches use it for good. I volunteered to pack food for starving children in africa at a local church here in bath ohio. The people there were really nice and weren't pushy about religion at all. We did "pray" after we were done but we also watched a video of a 9 year old boy who weighed 56lbs. After 3 monthes of the packed meals he gained almost 30lbs. They said we packed enough food to feed 1000 people to eat for five months, and got it done in two hours... http://www.fmsc.org/page.aspx...
They are are really good charity with a great reputation. If you care about this sort of thing research them. Christian or not, anybody who likes doing volunteer work should check them out...

I did hear somebody at work grumbling on about how "now obamas president another 4 years, I might have to do something illegal to get enough money to make ends meet.." or some crap like that. But then they hate people on welfare that sell drugs or break housing laws. Its the whole victim thing. They have a different set of morals fo themselves I guess..

Okay, is CNN okay with you?
Yeah, give me 1.6 trillion dollars in spending, and I'll cut Medicare for you guys.......... next year. Right. I have a bridge to sell you.

What means that GB senior was seldom seen and in rare events such as the one you brought up here. Carter is seen everywhere and not at disaster sites. He's in suit and tie giving speeches all over the place.

There is one solution to poverty: get a job.

Yep, and you can check charities out right here:

In the beginning, man wondered to himself:
Why, oh why are we here?
And yet, with each asking of this question
the answer would become even less clear
Overwhelmed by fear, distraction took its place
And so it was, in the world's first shelter
That we began the human race
The human race to fill up more and more empty space
Oh, how we loved, the human race
Until one day this one guy said to this other guy, he said:
Hey, have you seen that guy over there?
He's got more than everybody else has got
To me, that don't seem fair
Well, the second guy agreed with the first guy
Everybody else did too
Til they all got so worked up, they figured
there was something they just had to do:
Divide his things up among each other
After they killed him of course
They could see no real good reason not to just
Take what they wanted by force
When they found him he said:
Hey, wait a minute fellas, I wouldn't kill me just now
You can see that I've got more than any of you
Have ever got, wouldn't you first at least like to know how?
And with that, he had their attention
And with that, he went on loud and clear, he said:
You all know how long we've all wondered
Why, oh why are we here?
Well today I'm gonna tell ya all about it
I'm gonna teach ya about sufferin' and bliss
I'm gonna teach y'all a little bout Heaven and Hell
And the God that gave me all this
God gave me this because I'm humble
And he can do the same for you too
But if you're seekin' his love and affection
What you're doin' is the last thing I'd do
He sends killers to hellfire, both here and eternally
The good live forever in a place called Heaven
God told me this personally
Who you gonna trust if you can't trust me?
So unless you want suffering and heartache
Unless you want trouble and fear
You better find some kinda way to humble yourself
May I suggest helpin' me clean up around here?
'Course I could pay ya a little bit a money
But more importantly God would see
And if He sees you workin' humbly
Some day he may give you what he's given me
Well the crowd just didn't know what to do with that
Nor could they prove what he said wasn't true
And since he had what everyone else thought they wanted
It seemed like the thing to do
And with that we rolled into the future
And ain't it a son of a bitch
To think that we would still need religion
To keep the poor from killin' the rich?
Who are you gonna trust if you don't trust me?

Where in that article was there a proposal offered by the GOP?
#14503 Nov 30, 2012
If people didn't listen, he wouldn't be giving speeches. If anyone wanted to hear what either Bush had to say, they would be talking.
#14504 Nov 30, 2012
Show us anything in that article that says that the GOP is willing to return to Clinton era tax rates and spending. Can you read?
#14506 Nov 30, 2012
No, they wouldn't. They would maintain some dignity except for private invitations to speaking events and stay away from media cameras.
#14507 Nov 30, 2012
Can you? The article clearly points out that DumBama's tax increases would be at near or on Clinton levels provided drastic spending cuts were part of the deal. He doesn't want to do it. It was offered to him. He said "no." Instead, he offered to spend even more money. You call that meeting half-way?
#14508 Nov 30, 2012
Go ahead and do it. You are you!
Wasted bottom feeder........!
#14509 Nov 30, 2012
EXACTLY!! It comes down to FAITH.
I had a friend of decades that had told me that HE would NOT see me in heaven because I did NOT currently believe as he did which meant that I am NOT going to heaven.
I posed that 'what if when 'judgement day' comes, you find out that the Buddhist or Wiccans or whatever group turn out to be the 'chosen ones' & that HE was not going to heaven as HE understood it? HE had NO reply.
YOUR BIBLE likely also says...judge not least you be judged.
Wars & conflicts because of religion are quite sad & completely avoidable.

Actually I thought that it was brillant to 'open' Gitmo.
Holding hands with a school girl has NO comparision to BOWING to a king, prince, sultan who whomever, that's apples & melons. Bowing is submissive, denegrating for any head of state.

Kind of reminds me of an old religious joke.
A man dies and goes to heaven. He is taken on a guided tour. His usher takes him to a room of Jewish people, and they seem happy. He then takes him to a room of Protestants, and they seem happy. As they approach the Catholic room, the tour guide says "Here we have to be very quiet." The newcomer asks why? The guide says "This is the Catholic room, and they think they are the only ones here."
