why does Boone need a water park...? why not play up the natural water attractions around the area and work with what we already have and leave the water fun for the beaches....

Sad that Boone is in the position to be cluttered by fast food chains and Myrtle Beach attractions. I hope someone can stop ridiulous attractions like this one.Maybe it is time to find another mountain community to call home.

There is very little to do in Boone if the weather is bad or in the winter if you are not a skier. Even a gym that the public could use would be nice. Although the waterpark will probably be expensive, so is Tweetsie and a lot of people go there. Maybe there will be season passes or even a combo pass with Tweetsie.

I would assume the waterpark would be closed in the winter just like Tweetsie and other "tourist attractions". Boone is a nice mountain community with a university influence. If you are an outdoor person there is plenty to do in Boone besides just ski. I guess to some Boone is nothing but a tourist town or vacation spot. Please do not turn it into a town like Gatlinburg. If Boone is boring to you please stay at home, there are plenty of others crowding the streets on the weekends!

it is supposedly a lot like Great Wolf - indoor. It would be a log cabin style building and open year round.

why cant Boone be very creative and come up with something totally different that would be of interest to tourists and locals year round.....or whats wrong with Boone just like it is....Boone has lost its charm from many years ago..

Remember boone had a waterslide years ago nice one, opened by a well know family from the county. just wasn't a demand for one. i don't think one would make I now. just my two cents.

"Boone" isn't doing anything here.... this water park was proposed for the property between Tweetsie and Mystery Hill - property that is NOT in the town of Boone. If you don't like a project like this, you should be complaining to the county commissioners instead of the town. I haven't heard a thing about this in a long time, though - I assume the project has fallen through. The last time I drove by there, the real estate sign was back and it said "available."
