Does anyone know of any doctors in or around the Boone area that accepts medicaid and treats Hepatitis C? I'm not lived here very long and don't know alot about the area or the disease. I try to find stuff online to educate myself as much as I can but I don't understand alot of it...Like whats the life expectancy for someone with no treatment? I really need to find a doctor. I don't even have a primary doctor yet. If anyone know of any doctor's accepting new medicaid patients, I sure would appreciate if you'd let me know...I'm scared to death because of heard all kinds of symptoms that supposedly comes along with hep c virus....I haven't used any drugs in about 6 years now....If anyone has anything that might help, plz, plz let me know....Thanks everyone!
Good luck

I would try the health dept first. I am sure they can point you in the right direction. Good luck.

Unfortunately in your case having Medicaid or any type of insurance is working against you when seeking hep c treatment. The free clinic in Boone is the only facility in the area that treats hep c but they only work with uninsured patients. Good luck with your search. I wish you the best.

REALLY???? Oh, Free(ofHCV) you've given me hope! Thank you! Oh, thank you!!! I'm so tired it's all I can do to get a shower and back to bed some days.Would you please tell me some of your symptoms that you had then so I can compare. I've started thinking that if maybe I'm just this lazy. I wasn't before but maybe it's all in my mind. I can't remember things, have terrible headaches-which I never had before either. When I say my prayers I've even thought maybe I should just pray to my Savior to take me on if I'm gonna feel this bad the rest of my life.Thank you so much for responding! I'm sure I'll have alot more questions for you if you don't mind....GOD BLESS YOU!!!!

I also have hepatitis c. I have several other health problems, very bad arthritis.Does anyone know of a doctor in or around the Boone or even like Hickory area that may take a medicaid patient. I saw one doctor in Boone, he treated me like I had leprosy.I would never-ever let anyone come in contact with anything about me where they could stand a chance of getting infected with this terrible disease. Everyone should get checked. And when you get routine bloodwork they do not check for stuff like Hep C or HIV.When I first found out I had HepC I had started losing some weight unintentionally and kept having bloodwork for different things until the doctor finally checked the little box beside HCV(HepC virus). Now I find that I'm getting sicker and sicker and much more often. If anyone knows anyone a person might see to get some help PLEASE let us know! Thanks ya'll!
