It don't take a rocket scientist to figure this one out.

Gas is up a buck over last year this time, people are losing jobs left and right and government is slashing jobs.

People are not going out to eat and shop like they used to.

It's kind of funny though.....that no one wants to admit it and it will probably get worse before it gets better. Wake up folks, we are in a RECESSION!

No Sheet! That "W" fellow is doing a "heckuvajob" for US! There are a lot of SUV's and Pick-Ups for sale, cheap! Too bad they can't be shipped to Iraq, Kuwait and Afghanistan where the US Government is paying KBR and other contractors $7,500 per month per vehicle to lease them! I'm sure the guys and gals in WNC could use that money!
Hopefully optimistic

I sure hope you're right. But, I can assure you that my family sure won't be going on vacation any time soon. I don't see how any family can afford a nice little road trip to the mountains at these prices.

No one wants to admit it? Only one person doesn't want to admit it, and he lives at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

You left out the 535 members of congress that have not produced one bill dealing with the current economic situation. They concentrated on amnesty, drew a disastrous SHIP bill to extend health care to criminal migrants and $100,000 a year income families, pile on the pork, cannot pass an ethics bill, and wallow through procedural ceremonies and hearings while the economy goes stagnant, industries close down and outsource jobs, and energy reaches crisis level.
