My husband and I are separating and agree that we'd rather not talk to attorneys...too expensive. We heard about some attorneys who are doing mediation in sepapration and divorce. My friend said the office is on King Street, across from the courthouse? Anyone know anything about this group? i think its Appalachian Law? Anyone done mediation in separation and divorce with these people?

Kids involved? How many years of marriage? As ling as there aren't a lot of assets involved, like house, vehicles, bank accounts, and as long as there are no kids, it should be easy. I did mediation through Mark Klein. Terrible person. Mediators aren't supposed to be biased, but this guy is. He was a state employee, and not with the place you're talking about. I'd say try mediation. If it fails, a judge will decide.

i'd think you're nuts if you don't at least consult with a lawyer to find out your rights, then mediate if you want to.
