I have a relative who visited a friend in Toccopola, Mississippi, recently.
She spoke of a statue in town. It was of a Native American Indian princess named Etah.
Can anyone confirm this and give me some history and background about it.
My internet searches have been fruitless. Please help. Thanx.

Yes...She was the wife of a white man... When the white man died the land and all his holdings was left to her. Because she was Native American the courts stated she could not inherit the land. She fought and won the decision.
Back a few years ago a Tribe in Oklahoma donated the Statue to us (The Small Community of Toccopola) Well we put her in a place of Honor... Our Homemakers Club built a little flower garden around her... Looked really nice. She had been there for a few months...and some little fool stole her. We had the Sherriff's Dept. from two counties out to investigate. I don't think they ever found out who got her. It would have taken something to get her, because when they placed the statue they grounded her with about a hundred ponds of cement to keep her safe and in place. They had to dig up the cement to get her. Everybody around looked high and low for 6 months or so to find any trace of her. Nothing.... Then one morning an old feller was going out to his truck to go to the store and there she was in the back of his truck. He brought her home. We have had her in the Community Center ever since locked up. If you want more info on our Lady... contact me. I'll see what Miss Lynn has on it and scann it off for you.

Daily Horoscope for December 3

Cancer

Take it easy today, or the most insignificant things will get you down in no time. A difficult letter in the post, or a tricky conversation with a loved one, will sink your spirits down to your ankles. Ugh. Life is not as tough as it seems right now, so keep reminding yourself that we can choose to feel better. A bar of delicious chocolate, or a tasty savoury snack might help a little, too...
