No ,what the real shame is that taxpayers monies were used to subsidize private daycare! Millions of people everyday commute to their jobs and place their children in daycares that are usually more than five minutes from their work place.Seems like the couple that works for the county just likes having their cake and eat it too! maybe they're just going to have to figure out time and money management skills like everyone else who has raised children. Their very immature view actually concerns me since they work for domestic relations. Guess that explains the cracks in that system as well if this is what they employ! They also should realize that due to the condition of the building they are putting their child in a potential liability. They need to take a time out and put on their big girl and boy pants and figure it out! MY tax dollars are to educate the CCTI students not to help pay for somebody else's kids day care! maybe they should consider returning to where they came from if they don't like the way things are done here.THe interstate still runs in both directions and they should feel free to hop on at any time!

You forgot to mention they don't have to pay a toll to go back over the river to where they came from

How much money came from the PV school district?

How did it get transferred from the CCTI general fund to a private day care without the auditors finding it?

When these questions are answered perhaps some criminal charges?

The two county workers are born & raised in JT. You must be one of those imported New York City sweat hogs that ruined this area. I've know these people & their families all their lives. They are good, honest, hardworking folks. To comeon here & bash them obviously shows some jealousy. As for the day care, it's a shame that it is going to close b/c it's affordable & convenient, however people will & must find another means.
My advice to you is to take I-80 or I-78 EAST until your hat floats.

Closing the only daycare center in Jim Thorpe is a horrible idea. People in the county are constantly complaining about brain drain and this is just another example of why our educated youth leave this area. If you strip away all of the things that a young family needs and values then you're basically forcing them to leave. If you want a growing tax base rather than a dying community, then you need to ensure that quality essential services are available.

To the poster asking about PV money: I highly doubt that that center lost as much money the entire time it has been open as your school board president and his useless, classless wife owe in taxes. They belong in jail for the amount that they owe.
Are you a moron

Born and raised in Jim thorpe, I didn't realize Jim Thorpe had any birthing places or hospitals for children to be born. Maybe you should take your stupidity and get back on the short bus and go back to school and learn something this time

What planet do you on, school board directors don't need to pay property taxes.

You are absolutely correct, there are no birthing places or hospitals in JT. Obviously you took that literally b/c you have never heard that phrase used before. Must be another import who has nothing better to do than slander folks on this blog. Take 78/80 EAST until your hat floats.

If that is the best response you can come up with pull your head out of your butt and crawl back up the hole you came out. Just to see how stupid you are I looked through the past years obits in the Times News aka the fish guts wrapper and not a single obit for anybody who died while living in Jim Thorpe had their place of birth listed as Jim Thorpe, there were a bunch of Lehighton ones and a few from Palmerton, Allentown, Hazelton, and Coaldale, so I guess you are just a moron.

As I mentioned above, you are correct, there are birthing places or hospitals. I'm glad you wasted your entire Sunday going through the Times News obits to prove something wrong that I entirely admitted was and should not have been taken literally. You are the moron, b/c if you read my prior post - but let me stop there - I mentioned READ, obviously something you can't do. I really feel sorry for not being able to read or comprehend posts on here. In addition I feel bad for you because you have no life and spent a lot of time reading obits on a holiday weekend.

Your stupidy is really showing, where did I say I read the obits? I said I looked at them, it took less then an hour including the time to write the response to your stupidity. I set up a search routine in DDE to check the obits, which took under 10 minutes and I let it run unattended for around a half hour and came back and went through and sorted the results. No wonder you think born and raised is an accepted statement in these PC times. Now go out in your yard and sit amongst the rocks, since they might teach you something. I'm shocked you're smart enough to remember to keep breathing

Why shouldn't an honest hard working person get break? I'm tired of working and paying taxes for scumbags to live off access and other government programs, which do me no good. For the born and raised issue, of course there is not a local hospital in every town. If your household is located in a town and you were born in Allentown/Lehighton, I would considered you born and raised in your household location.
