You have to remeber Mittal has the blessing of the American Government from ole lian George to Obama Rama Ding dong; As well as congress, Durban of IL, Viskloyski of IN and all the others. Why would USWA care they are getting their fair share. Maybe we as the people should wake up, take out the trash and put real working people back in these offices!! But that will never happen, because we will still be asleep at the wheel during election time. Remember "VOTE FOR ME AND I WILL SET YOU FREE" rap on Brothers and Sisters.

These are bad people, ArcelorMittal. The workers and management inside the plant mostly have lived in this area all their lives. They were brought back for 3 to 4 months of asset protection. A Big Lie. After a few months of indoctrination they have been assimilated into Rupplicks and have been destroying the plant under the a watchful eye of Mark Waylen, Mike Rippey and Lou Schorsch. Mark, Mike and Lou believe they are great Americans because they have lived in the Chicago area all their lives. Take a good look at yoursef in the mirrer boys. What you really are is UNAMERICAN!

ArcelorMittal's Hennepin finishing plant in Hennepin,Illinois is being gutted by a group of 30 USW volunteers. Many had worked at the plant for 40 years until this foreign corporation decided that this high tech, profitable and the newest wholly owned by ArcelorMittal in the United States needed to be closed. The reasons given were lies after lies repeated so often that people you would think had common sense believed them. Costs and transportation were to high. We have to much capacity they said. These were just lies and those keeping them going were the ones who felt they had much to loose. Like ArcelorMittal's Indiana East and Indiana West plants who scored miserable when compared to Hennepin. This was no Lie. It was a very expensive study paid for by Lakshmi Mittal that said in a nut shell Hennepin is better, more profitable and has a self directed work force that you might want to model your other plants
to. What an embarrassment. Hennepin had to GO

Our manaagers always said Hennepin was a dump and it should be shut down. Your right steelworker. ArcelorMittal doesn't have to tell the truth on anything. Who is going to stop them.. I was at Hennepin few years ago. Looked like a good plant to me.

Your ArcelorMittal manager wasn't Mark Waylen? Low level managers like Waylen spewed hatred toward Hennepin because Hennepin called him on his lies. Mike Rippey will need to hang the blame on closing Hennepin, maybe on Waylen. In the end pretty boy Mike will have to fess up he Blew this one big time. Maybe he should be looking for a job like the steelworkers in Hennepin.

Hennepin was good since 1967, paid the bills for LTV while the other plants lost money. Hennepin could have been a stand alone steel plant. Mittal ran it down like 4 other former ISG plants in this country. ISG should never have sold out. We all made the most money of our lives, until stupid ignorant Mittal took over. Too bad the French didn't hang him when he shut their plant down.

Yeah I worked there for over 40 years, and the tandem mill still holds world records that no rilling mill in the world has ever touched. I alone ran the mill faster than anybody. Too bad this Mittal guy had to be in this country. He shuttered 4 more plants. His goal is to build a huge plant in his own country on India, even tho he lives in England in a 140 million dollar mansion, with a 20 car garage. He is pathetic. He ran away from India years ago because he didn't pay taxes to his government. I guess that's how you make money and keep it. Don't pay and skip the country. He is planning a huge steel plant in hopes to sell to the US. That's why he was nasty going after Arcelor overseas, and the US plants, to shut them down.

ArcelorMittal USA is the largest steel producer in the United States, formed from the combination of ArcelorMittal’s existing US business, Ispat Inland, with the assets of International Steel Group.

ArcelorMittal USA is a major supplier to the North American automotive industry as well as to the broader transportation sector, serving customers in the trucking, off-highway, agricultural-equipment, and railway industries. ArcelorMittal USA also has a strong customer base in the appliance, office furniture, electrical motors, packaging, industrial machinery, and other manufacturing sectors, as well as the distribution and service-center industry.

ArcelorMittal USA operates some of the most modern and efficient steel plants in North America. Major steel producing sites are located in East Chicago and Burns Harbor, Indiana; Cleveland, Ohio; Weirton, West Virginia; Sparrows Point, Maryland; Steelton, Pennsylvania; Georgetown, South Carolina; and Riverdale, Illinois. Value-added plate markets are served from the Company's Conshohocken and Coatesville, Pennsylvania, facilities, as well as from operations in Indiana. The company also has finishing facilities in Hennepin, Illinois, Lackawanna, New York, Newton, North Carolina, and Columbus, Ohio.

As part of its partnership with Nippon Steel Corporation, the Company also operates two state-of-the-art steel-finishing plants near New Carlisle, Indiana: I/N Tek, a continuous cold rolling plant that produces sheet steel of unmatched quality and consistency, and I/N Kote, a plant comprising both hot-dip and electrogalvanising lines for flat-rolled steel.

ArcelorMittal also owns iron ore mines in Minnesota as well as coal properties in Pennsylvania and a direct-reduced-iron facility in Trinidad, and a coke-making facility in Warren, Ohio.

I believe Aaron Schock said he would never allow the Steel Mill to just sit there and become a blight on Hennepin and Putnam County.
