How is food rite still open with the meat they sell? They wrap old beef with the new beef and it's ACTUALLY green in the center!!!!! I tried to take it back but they said they wouldn't take it because the package was opened!!! So I bought another one and it was the same damn way. If i find enough like-minded people I will organize a protest. I actually spend cash on my food and I don't get food stamps. I don't understand why they are the only grocer in this county and they can't afford to keep decent food on the shelves. Just message me and let me know. Together we can do something about this and say we aren't going to stand for this garbage.

well you must get government funding for your mental handicap. go buy yourself a lb. of their fine "fresh" ground beef or chuck. peel the fresh red layer away and what do you have. GARBAGE that is NOT fit for an animal.

You must be snake-bit! I've never had an experience like that. By the way, I pay for my food with no assistance from anyone or anywhere! If you're not happy, go somewhere else.

I also have bought ground chuck that was pink on the outside and gray in the middle. This was not the first time this has happened, I think the health department should be called. I have also bought chicken that was sticky when I opened the package, I will never buy thier chicken again.

It does not happen all the time, but the other day I bought some meat and within two days in the fridge it was completely brown. And when I cooked it, it was not fit to eat.

I have seen several stores try that in the past but I recieved a full refund when I brought ir back . Never have purchased hamburger from Foodrite though. I will bet that the practice will now stop since it is a matter of public discussion.

I've had the same experience, pink outside, gray inside, and when you cook it, it smells sour! Yuck! There is also a serious roach problem at that store. Be very careful about what you take into your home!

A guy at the Jackson Sams Club seversl years ago told me they take the old hamburger that is just about rancid and cover it with the layer of fresh red hamburger. It is done in many supermakets until people call them out. Another guy long ago who worked in the meat dept said never buy the barbecued or other flavored chicken because it is the old chicken that went bad that they bleach then sell as barbecued or deep fryed.

I have also bought meat from foodrite that looked good on the outside but like others have said, peel back the top layer of meat and what do you have, brown all the way to the center. there has also been an incident a couple of months ago that i bought chicken drumsticks and when i opened them that night to fry, they smelled sour. needless to say, i don't buy any meat from tiptonville foodrite. that's not to say all the foodrite chains are bad. i love to shop at the newbern store. it is soo much cleaner and the service is much better.

This thread is enough to make me turn vegan. Seriously. Makes me nauseous just thinking about it. I won't be buying ANY more meat from that store! And after finding a roach crawling out of a bag I'd JUST brought into my kitchen, I won't be buying any more boxed food or produce there either! Hell, I just won't be shopping there any more at all! If you care about your health, you won't either!

I think foodrite has the best meat around. The service is awesome. If I ever need help I just ask and they get exactly what I want even if they have to cut it. I refuse to buy meat from Walmart. I would rather get from foodrite so I know that it is fresh. I have been to the foodrite in Newbern and dyer and the service is nothing like tiptonvilles. You can never find anyone to help you. This is just my opinion.

Then why are you putting down other Foodrites ? I will not buy any meat from Foodrite until the problem has been corrected, and I definately will not buy meat that the store refuses to give a refund on that has clearly spoiled as a few posters have stated. I will not shop at any store that refuses to refund a customers money when the product is defective. And Foodrites fruit and vegetable prices are outragious we live in the middle of a vast agricultural area but pay the highest prices for fruits and vegetables which should be thirty to forty percent lower. It is still cheaper to shop in Dyersburg or Union City for lower prices than Foodrite.
