The levy ladies, no matter how well meaning, were on the wrong side of the issues before the elections last year, and they have not gotten right since.

Why did Lisa Babb and Mary Johnson (among others who spoke at the board meeting) continue "carlisles's tremendously negative (almost accusingly) attitude during their comments? What were those purposes?
Obviously, those purposes were for their rallying SOS cry: "Save Our Scams!"

And exactly which "scams" are the booster/community bullies trying to save?

Well, It appears, after listening to the ones speaking at the July 17 BOE meeting, that these Booster bullies want to continue "business as usual" going about supporting individual "choice of sports coaches" ...... instead of working to support our schools' "overall athletic program" operating under the school district's athletic director.

For sure, the defenders of unethical and illegal "status quo" will jump on this to "beat down" those who are doing what's right for our "athletic program as a whole."

So-o-o, which one of you babb bullies will step up to the plate first? In the words of your former chief bully.....Batter Up!

I'm guessing this is the primary goal of the police investigation.
However, one thing is clear... there most certainly wouldn't be a need for a police investigation at this point in time if both fiscal transparency and personal accountability had been prioritized, central factors within the code of ethics of the Boosters.

IMO Maybe she hasn't shed all of the frustration surrounding that very close, very respectable 3rd place finish last Nov.
IMO Maybe before taking a position, maybe she might want to consider thinking new issues though and displaying a bit more more objectivity.
It's a long time until Election Day, if one is generally perceived as being an "againster".

I am amazed that the board can sit there day in and day out and listen to the inane comments that flow from the levy ladies' mouths. They always appear to have never listened to the entire program, picking instead a half statement here and there to babble on about. Context and content seem to be foreign to their thought patterns and utterances.
The leaders of the pack speak volumes and say nothing. They offer no insight, only vague expressions about how they feel about things. Questions that were answered earlier in a presentation are asked again. There exists none of the spirit of cooperation of which they demand of everyone else. They live to delay, obfuscate, and complain.
The questions that indeed need asked never seem to make it to their lips.
1) Why are 2000 plus students failing in our system?
2) What happened to hundreds of thousands of dollars looted from the booster accounts?
3) How can we have a surplus when every time the levy supporters spoke they foretold doom and gloom without a new levy?
This is what I have seen as well. They film every move of the BOE hoping to catch something they can hang their hats on but what they are really doing is looking stupid, desperate and like Obama.
They need to get a life, preferable their own.

Every working day, Springboro Schools Business Emperor Nero a.k.a. George Long plays his fiddle while stretching back in his chair in his air conditioned trailer, all the while much of the physical infrastructure throughout the district continues to plummet toward
various states of disrepair. Take a moment to check out the current condition of Clearcreek Elementary. As viewed from S. Main St this building and its surrounding property crys out maintenance neglect. Peeling and faded paint, garbage all over the place all the time, dying and dead trees everywhere, bushes and grass unkempt. This sorry scene is something akin to what one might envison when they think of, or see poor inner city schools. George, is this what Boro levy tax dollars are paying for?
In a budget cutting move late last winter, Springboro schools' in-house maintenance dept took over mowing and landscape maintenance from longtime contractor Henderson Turf Farms. Certain athletic field maintenance is still contracted through various other vendors. I'm confident what you're seeing isn't neglect, but rather the bumps and bruises of a first year's learning curve.

Aren't we seeing the neglect because Mr. Long replaced private sector contractors (who were doing a good job) with union school employees with all the bumps and bruises of no experience?
Isn't this just one example of sloppy management and perhaps just one reason that the school's business manager now carries the title of "former?"

Your opinion of Lisa Babb's "very respectable" finish last November does not change the facts, of Lisa Babb's "very
dis-respectable" behaviour and campaign politics of personal destruction, against other school board candidates and private citizens.
Lisa Babb's campaign proved her to be a mean-spirited community drama queen and she presented herself a poor example of "good citizenship" in front of our school children and community members.

Lisa Babb finished her failed campaign last November in the same disrepectful manner in which Lisa Babb started her failed campaign -- that is, distorting the facts and spreading lies to discredit the only two candidates whose agenda promised to "review pay to play fees and get it right." And she continues spreading lies, making false accusations, and protesting against our school board majority members and our children first.
Fact is, Lisa Babb is finished in school board politics, and in a very dis-respectable way!

As usual, off topic again.

WHERE IS THE MONEY?

Scott Anderson wants to return the concessions to the Boosters. Seriously? Is that how he runs the bank? Someone steals the money and he gives them a raise? What planet is he on? And he can't just blame one bad apple for not turning the money over for SEVEN YEARS! If the Booster Officers were so uninvolved for SEVEN YEARS, why would they be any better now? Unless he thinks they will be better run when they all are in jail for theft. They will certainly have more time then.

And the COACHES? WHERE IS THE MONEY? SHOW YOUR RECORDS!!! All the fundraisers that parents and kids worked so hard for. Where is the money? What was it spent on? Do you have a receipt? Deposit records? Bank statements?

And the school treasurer? Shouldn't Dettwiler have been asking for the money? He had kids in the district in sports! He knew there were fundraisers. Why isn't anyone asking him? Just because you leave, doesn't mean that you were not responsible.

What about the Superintendent and Business Manager? And wasn't there an assistant superintendent? Baker, Long and Hook should be held responsible for their roles as well as the junior and senior high principals! And let's not forget the Board. They should have been asking questions. All the way back to the beginning of this mess ...probably 2004 or maybe even earlier. How about that, Ira?

Why did they all leave? To go find easier pickings elsewhere? Because they knew the jig was up?

Stay on topic, folks!!! WHERE is THE MONEY?

Springboro families and taxpaying homeowners do not know the answer to "where is the money."
That answer lies on the "inside" and when those on the "outside" ask the BOE president questions, the BOE president answers with disrespect "You are a determined fool." We do know that our school leadership/elected BOE officials have a moral responsibility to respect our school staff and children and community members and our school board's policies and by-laws and "NOT spend more than is taken in" to pay for our students classroom education NOR our schools sports/band extra curriculars activities.
We do know that our boosters leaders did spend more than they took in; and we NOW know that school district taxpayers were stuck with paying thousands of dollars to our school sports expenses. And that is just wrong.

We do know that we still have school leaders employed who do know where the money is, and we do have two elected officials still on the BOE, who have been involved all these years in these currently known unethical and illegal boosters circumstances, and violations of rules, that should have been confronted by school authority and stopped.
Did these school employees (principals and administrators) and board members just look the other way while this financial abuse was launched upon our school children, parents, business leaders and community members throughout the years;during which time "they" were "faking a budget crisis to shame voters into passing unnecessary levies?" Or, were they just too apathetic or lazy and just went along "status quo, business as usual" just to get along?
Why rock the boat when everything is smooth sailing?? And everything was smooth sailing until 2010 and one lone board member started asking tough financial questions in the best interest of our children first.
Most of the school employees and elected officials at least from about 2005 are now gone from our school district; most likely as a result of being "uncovered" by tough questions asked by our now BOE majority board members doing what's right for our school children and community. Question today is: Why are these school employees that have been around all these years in our school district's employment STILL in positions of influence over our school children? And...Why hasn't Anderson and Miller acknowledged they have failed in doing what's right for our school children and community? Inquiring minds wandering throughout the boro are just wondering...

Are there other parents out there who remember Ira Thomsen? Isn't he the board member(along with Trifaro, Miller, Kruse, and Colston) who voted to cut out busing for our elementary kids; and wasn't it Thomsen who voted "self-interest NO" to plans to "combine bus routes and save busing for our kids".... saying that "HIS" child would get home too late for church classes? And at the same time Susan Thomsen was NFSS treasurer promoting a "fake budget crisis" holding parents hostage over things like busing and activities fees?? oh what a tangled web we weave..when first we prractice to deceive...year after year...

As Mr. Lolli's newsletter reports to our community, we have real issues of our student's safety being safe guarded inside our school buildings.
It appears from what has happened during our March 20 and March 27 school board meetings that our inside union teachers are focused more on "student activisim" for teachers' rights than our students rights for a quality education.
In the DDN 04.07.2012, Mr. Lolli said..."the actions of the students played a big role in his decision to retain Malone as principal." --
Mr. Lolli and Mr. Malone are the highest paid employees in our district, and the best they could come up with was "letting the students decide" and feeling "vague and overwhelmed" by it all??... those of us on the "outside" demand school employees "whose ACTIONS play a big roll in our STUDENTS quality education." And we demand school board representatives who are interested in doing what's right for our students. Scott Anderson has proven that he is only interested in gaining more power for the SEA and Mr. Anderson actions are disrespectful.
Our next superintendent needs to be a professional whose priority is thoughtful leadership for our children's future; instead of focusing on the "feelings" of school employees and promting youth unionism protesting school authority.
With inept leadership like BOE failed president, Mr. Anderson, it is NO SURPRISE that our Springboro Boosters/Athletics officers show NO RESPECT to school board authority. There is no right way to do a wrong thing; and Mr. Anderson is just plan wrong for not doing the right thing for our school children and community as a whole.

So why did the high school principal object to efforts made to lower the pay to play cost to parents? If the high school principal is not working in the best interest of MORE STUDENTS being able to afford participating in school sports; THEN, who are the ones who have the principal's priority interest??
Something's just not right about that.

So why did two boosters refuse to work the concessions booths for the games IF they could not have the money they raised to do with as they pleased, with no accountability to the school district? Should such self-interest bullies be involved at all in financial leadership roles, when they consistently argue against working together for our schools athletic programs?

Until the investigation is complete and all the facts are known, the Boosters should not be allowed to run the concessions or any other money making events. The Boosters need to get back in the good graces of the IRS before they get to collect one penny on behalf of the school. And they should have constant supervision by an "outsider" to make certain that all the money collected on behalf of the school goes to the school.

Typical Tea Party Answer. Get your facts straight before you try to blame all of the problems on the union. The private sector company was not replaced by a union employee, the private sector company was reached by one person, our glorious school board thinks that maintenance for all Springboro Schools can be done by one person. Thank you so much for saving so much money for us, now our schools look like crap, thrash everywhere, weeds, and Tea Party members. Look outside CareFlight Field, there are bags of trash just laying there, we have weeds on an artificial playing surface (not sure how that happens). Great job school board you saved a few bucks and replaced a ton of work which needs probably 10 people with one guy, you guys are geniuses.
