A lot of things have been said about the candidates. I know all 3 candidates pretty well and I want to share what I know about them.
First Dino, he is a nice guy. I order pizza from him and have a had conversation with him. I worry about his experience to run a town which has so many up hill battles. So his zero experience is my problem with him.
Second Lou Presta. I live on Lou's block and again he's a very nice person. I consider him a friend. I have had very extensive conversations with him in person and he has never given me an acceptable answer about this water issue. I believe he really doesn't have an answer for what has been done. I just really don't get him, he seems as if the light bulb is not really on. I have a problem with him always voting with the mayors and not really giving his opinions. It seems that when you talk to him in person the responses are short and not very intelligent. But then you read his posts on Facebook it seems that it's a hired person writing these things for him. That bothers me because I know him very well so I can tell its not him writing those things. Again he's a friend of mine so I can't bash him personally but as my mayor I can.
Third is John Toscas. I know him very well I've hired him as my attorney on several occasions including wills, trusts, real estate. He exceeded my expectation tremendously! He is a very brilliant Lawyer. He helped me appeal my taxes at the assessors office and saved me a good sum of money. I really appreciated this because I've lived here for 30 years and never have done that so I was very thankful for that. I also have to talk about the crestwood soccer program. Because this is his greatest achievement and I have thanked him for donating all that time to this community. Neither of the other candidates give time like that. My kids were in soccer 25 years ago and now my grand kids are there and the transformation from what it was, to how it is today just blows my mind.
People can make their own decisions on who to vote for and please do so. But as a friend of all 3 candidates this is an easy pick for me. John Toscas is by far the best candidate and by far the best person. His contributions to crestwood soccer says it all. I have found that he is a man that will run at a problem head on and never back down till its solved. It's not about the things you do when people are looking, it's about the things you do without recognition. He's been there working for our community and donating his free time to a great organization.

Before someone write something negative about my post please start it out by saying the charity work the others two candidates have donated time too. Neither have done work like that. Charity work is a true measure of a man.
Agreed

I agree 100% with you. I don't know Dino, but with no previous political experience I don't think he's a good choice. As for Lou, in my opinion, any trustee that sat back and let the water scandal continue to happen and did NOTHING to stop it, is a true COWARD!! Electing him is just asking for more trouble! As for John, he did the RIGHT thing and voted no on paying the legal bills for the indicted. I believe he can lead our village in the right direction and the residents would be proud to call him our mayor. John Toscas for Mayor, he's got my vote!!

Dino is a joke. He has no common sense and he's borderline retarded from all the drugs. Pizza delivery boy as mayor. Are you kidding me. He's just trying to make his son chief of police and give him a raise. Please!!!

I too have lived in this town a long time. Raised my kids here and my wife and I decided to stay long after our children have moved out.
I will not base my decision on Mayor solely on his contributions to soccer. You see when my children were growing up it was the norm to volunteer. So that is not something I would v\even consider. A lot of people I know who are involved in the soccer program can not stand John Toscas and even wonder why he is still running it. They think it is strange and he may be gaining something out of it. One other point look at the people who have done charitable work over the years and have been put in jail. Just because the volunteer or do charitable work does not automatically make them a saint.
Toscas reduced your taxes and that is great. That is what he was elected to do and he is paid over 40,000 per year to do that. He is doing his job.
And please do not bring up him being a lawyer. Do you know how many dirty lawyers there is? A lot of people would say being a lawyer is reason not to vote for him alone.
No one I know who lives in town and knows John Toscas personally likes him. I have lived in town over 45 years. I also know Lou and Dino.
I like Lou. I do have questions about the water. I would like to know why the IEPA and the EPA have said the water is safe and always has been. Why then all of the lawsuits? What are these people trying to gain?
I like Dino and have been a customer of his for years. He is a very intelligent person. You really should get to know him. All the seniors at the Wellness center and Biela center are really talking him up after he addressed many of them. They really like him. Not one senior likes Toscas and a vast majority like Lou.
So unlike you I am using my real name. I am not afraid too. I guess your generation is different. I am going to vote for either Lou or Dino. I will make my decision based on what I hear from them. I am tired of Toscas's whining and by the letter just received he is going to get dirty. I think he will be Chester Strancek on steroids if he is elected. FYI As I stated I have lived in town for over 45 years. No caner for me my wife or 3 kids. Toscas is trying desperately to make this a big issue. It is not. Yes they mixed the water. The two people indicted are for bad record keeping nothing else. If the water was so bad the Feds and the state would have been allover that. It is for bad record keeping that is all. I want to hear what they are going to do to move Crestwood forward not. Stop with the tired water crap. It is in federal court and they will decide.

You could have appealed your taxes yourself and not cost yourself a lawyers fee .Your attorney will get the same result as yourself based on equal assessed evaulation at the assesors office so that doesnt impress me one bit,it actually appals me somewhat.I know lou and dino and agree maybe not best choices either but tocas i would probably not vote for ever.clinton

Go ahead make a complete azz out of yourself. Typical supporter of Toscas. In America we have a right to pick who we want to vote for without any fear. That includes Crestwood. You had better be careful. Topix was forced recently to provide all ISP's of people who were posting crap like you are about Dino. The courts ruled you cannot post opinions like that without proof. The 1st amendment does not cover you. Maybe go ask Toscas so he can provide you legal advice.

I would bet even Toscas would not welcome a person with such low standards supporting him. You need to grow up Z. Dino could cause you a whole lot of problems if he wants. You should do a little research before you post your crap again.

Larry Strache: You are obviously a Stranczek/Presta/Pavoni backer. Your post is filled with lies and innuendo. You missed the point of the previous post, which was, look at what volunteer and/or civic contributions the candidates have made. Since you cannot name any, and since no one I know has ever seen Presta or Pavoni volunteer or contribute to any charitable organization, we can all be assured that they have not. As for the Crestwood Soccer Club, you have no idea about the amount of work that goes into an organization like that. Why is it that the ONLY youth organization in our Village that is successful, is the Crestwood Soccer Club? Every other youth organization is extinct or had to merge with other towns to exist. Yet the Crestwood Soccer Club is thriving. I heard they have over 500 kids in the program for the last 4 years. That is a testament to Mr. Toscas' leadership and his contributions to the sport. I do not expect you to say anything nice about Mr. Toscas because you are a Stranczek/Presta/Pavoni clone. I know a number of seniors who love Mr. Toscas. As for the letter that Mr. Toscas sent out, telling the truth is not getting dirty! What you are doing is! He tells the truth, but when the truth affects your friends, Presta and Pavoni, you cannot handle it and call it whining. You obviously have not read the indictment against the two Village employees. If you did, you would know that they were indicted for falsifying a government document. Not bad record-keeping as you and Presta and Pavoni believe. They along with the Mayor, Presta and the rest of the Board lied on the documents and told the EPA that they were using Lake Michigan water, when they were mixing the water with the contaminated well water. You said this is a non-issue. I beg to differ. The legal bills for this fiasco are over 5 million dollars so far. The Attorney General has filed a suit against both Mayors, the Board and Village. This suit is for about one million dollars in total. Also, there are over 100 lawsuits against the Village for millions of dollars. The residents of Crestwood are going to be responsible for those lawsuits, because of the stupid decision of the Mayors, Presta and the rest of the Board to mix that contaminated water. You are one of the lucky people that has not had cancer. The study that was conducted showed that there were a lot of people who had cancer in our Village. If you did, you would be outraged and you would not be supporting Presta or Pavoni, but rather Mr. Toscas. This is certainly not a "non-issue" as you call it, not when people's lives and the financial condition of the Village is on the line. It is a major issue. I would bet that you have never even spoken to Mr. Toscas. It is clones like you that resort to lies and innuendo. I hope you take the time to reach out to Mr. Toscas and speak with him. You may be pleasantly surprised

Jimbo, It is very apparent you are a Toscas supporter. That is fine that is what America is about. We can as the other guy pointed out back whom ever we want without fear.
Now I would like to address your misconceptions. 1st and foremost just because you and I quote “Since you cannot name any, and since no one I know has ever seen Presta or Pavoni volunteer or contribute to any charitable organization, we can all be assured that they have not” does not mean they have not contributed to any organization. Your post then and I quote once again “Your post is filled with lies and innuendo” Both men contribute a lot to Incarnation church. Dino contributes to every organization in the village and furthermore he contribute a lot of time effort and money to home school organization that is very popular in this area. So before you post again do a little research. Also do not bash what organization they contribute too. It doesnt matter according to you as long as they contribute. So I will not exspect for you to and I will quote you once again “ but when the truth affects your friends, Presta and Pavoni, you cannot handle it and call it whining”. So no whining. You called it.
And are you really going to play on words? What the other poster called bad record keeping is really a nice way of saying “ falsifying a government document” is it right probably not. It is akin to calling someone a nice intoxicated driver when in reality he is a drunk driver.
Did they mix the water. Yes. Did it cause cancer? No according to the EPA and IEPA the water was safe and no one was ever in danger. Is it costing the village money yes it is. A lot of people are suing to make a quick buck. That is a fact. Our cancer rate is no higher then any other town around us. Go look for yourself. We have a little spike here or there in certain types of cancer but there are thousands of towns that experience the same results. This is not cause for alarm.
Now I still have not decided as of yet who I am voting for. I will look at all three candidates and see what they have to offer. I will disregard any negative material and look at who is going to do the best for the village and who presents the best plan for the future in a positive way.

Just to start I'm not Jim, but the EPA and IEPA did not say the water was safe to drink. That's just not true. The IEPA originally said that the water never had any toxic chemicals in it. They said that because the IEPA looked at the water records the the crestwood officials allegedly falsified. Which then brought the EPA to do the proper testing which reveled it was in fact contaminated with vinyl chloride. Which then the IEPA and EPA bot said there is zero safe level of consumption by a human being. That's the 100% true story

I go to incarnation and sure Dino is a member there but I've never seen or heard of him or his family contribute much. So you are afraid to use your name because of your affiliation with the church. My name is Sue Coyle and I attend church. I unlike you am not a fraid of anyone at Incarnation or its affiliates. It is very suspect you would come on here thump your chest and then use a cop out lame excuse like that. By the way the Pavoni family is very active and has always been very active and supportive of Incarnation. It is very apparentyou are nottoo involved if you dont already know that but since you are afraid of what the christians may do to you by voicing your opinion that doesnt surprise me..

I dont want to get involved in your little peeing match here but yes the IEPA did say the water had minute traces of vinal chloride. Both the EPA and IEPA said the public was never in danger. That is why no one has been charged as of yet other then the two employees for falsifying records. In fact it was reported by the EPA and IEPA you would need to drink several quarts of pure well water for over 70 years in order to get a 1/10,000 chance of cancer.

Trust me I have three children and did the resaerch. I was pissed at this. But the factsa are the facts. And that is 100% true.

<quoted text>So you are afraid to use your name because of your affiliation with the church.
Well Sue Coyle, do you really feel that Dino is the most qualified to handle hundreds of law suits. An image problem. And 10s of millions of dollar debt that crestwood faces? Yes or no please!
