Ya'll don't even mention that the reason why these guys(sid and these other 2 morons) flipped out when they got stopped was because they were on the run for Assaulting a person who informed the Tribal police that they(sid and these other2 morons)were selling drugs and were witness' Against these morons(sid and the other 2 morons)in an up-coming Federal Case.
Fro all of you idiots who are trying to blame the Fed. Gov. for this just don't want to accept responsiblility for YOUR OWN PERSONAL DECISIONS and MISTAKES.
These morons did this to themselves NO-ONE from the Fed. Gov. was standing behind them with a gun and forcing them to commit these CRIMES. They committed them on their own.

They deserve everything that they are getting!! I agree with the person who said, you do the crime you pay the time!! It has nothing to do with being Native and so forth, you see a lot of peeps locked up for their actions. And for you Oppress Warrior, you preaching about the old ways, of this and that about mixed race and all, it was bound to happen, its a new day and age, at that a new generation! I feel sorry for the troop that stopped them, because he didn't know what was coming at him, but yet, because of Jeremy's stupidity he harmed this innocent guy. For the RECORDS, Eagle Butte is not a bad place, its what you make of you, you want to have negative ways and let people drag you down to misery then your going to be living a miserable life, blaming things on a town. I think the gov. should come in and take over this reservation, its only a big shit hole, going further in DEBT!! Making it look bad for the rest of us who live here not giving a crap about the tribe. AND ALSO, they want to get rid of non full blood indians, whats up with that. Even the Fiddler family has german blood, but its what you think of it!

To injun dude,

thanks for your comment. That's why the family was so worried because of the way the media put out the news. Syd DIDNOT assault the trooper, he had nothing to do with that. I know, I was there. It was a bad situation believe me and we are all paying for it. He did not hide out on the reservation for two weeks at my house as has been suggested. He would not kill you or anyone else. He didn't run Eagle Butte, hell he hardly ever really lived here for the past ten years. Dang. We all bad choices that night but we survived and are praying for all of you that ignorant to what has happened and think you know it all.

so, if you were there... who knocked the trooper out cold and left him on the side of the highway? some mistery guy on the grassy knoll, or did he just fall over? if it wasn't him and he let it happen, he's just as guilty for not helping. its like the old adage, one who lays a blind eye on those in need has done as much damage as the one who inflicted it. if for some reason the trooper would have lets say died... he would be accessory to murder, no? thats saying like you say... he didn't do anything to the trooper.

Did not know what happened until after the fact. Didn't let it happen because were unaware sitting in the car. the guy that DID do it admitted in court yesterday. All have paid the price and are so grateful the trooper was not seriously injured.

Hey Stoneboy get your story straight.

I said what i said on purpose.
So, that everyon ewould see the lengths some of you 'apples' would go to, to try and justify your F*ed-up actions.
All the corruption and crap in the so-called judicial system here. Jamming the Tribal Courts with all the Drunks instead of sending the real, criminals,ie, the Drug Dealing, boot-leging and Embezzeling family members to Prison or Floating them off the Rez, like they should be.

I am a resident of eagle butte and i believe that alcohol is the problem of every negative action that comes out of indian country....oppression ..europeans cant come here and try to conform us into what they believe is normal.....its been said over and over but whats the use.....dont blame everything on us natives....we live here ...dont talk like you know whats goin on here if you dont live here.....with much respect and all out of honesty

I don't believe that alcohol is the "problem", but it is a symptom of the true problems we have here in indian country which happen to be hisorical trauma, oppression, colonization and so forth...which has now turned into unemployment, abuses within the family, alcoholism, violence, low self esteem and so forth. It's sad and I can only hope and pray to the creator that we stay strong and change these negative ways within our people and communities

Since 1952 congress passed a law to let native americans drink so this Norman Shuler, Jr,. is abusing the laws, why don't you CRST people get together and enforce our treaties, the white people don't like CRST members but sure take our monies. have communities meetings, write your congressmen, write to the US Justice Dept. and ask Mr Holder to meet with all tribal members on the CRST reservation and let him know what is going on, on the CRST reservation, the tribal chairman, mr. BIA, mr. Chief of Police doesn't speak for us, they all sit behind their desks, don't sit down like a man or woman and talk a intelligent conversation with us. because they don't think we are intelligent. If there were no tribal members they will not have a pay check, they are the people not to trust, they don't speak for us, use that mouth of your and speak, use your mind and think intelligently for the future of our people, look at all the people who have passed away not getting what they want from the CRST Tribal office, RESPECT, UNITY, A SMILE, A HELLO, A HUG.

yes, can definitely see that here on the rez. The people in office are unfortunately narcissistic creeps who are just into playing lowball politics. Have watched it go down with this current tribal council and the police department as well, just only in it for themselves and the favors they owe or want done. The tribal vice chair has embarrassed our tribe as a member and as a woman, and that wannabe celebrity Chairman is just ridiculous. How can we progress, how can we change things with this kind of representation? And this last election isn't showing us much more. Yes Lakota Winyan we need to use our voice!!

i can see where you're coming from. my people were opressed as well. forced to pay taxes to a foreign land we held no allegance to, seen as less than human (called barbaric and believed to be a cancer on society), they even tried to breed us out by taking new wives and having sex with them before the husband was allowed to. our children were forced to take arms and fight our enemy as soon as they could carry a weapon and hundreds upon hundreds of young lives were lost. you know what we did? we took the high road. we fought, but also taught our children to fight smart. now we are a strong people with rights in america that we never thought we could have. just because a certain group of people opressed us, hated us, and screwed us over doesn't mean we get anything in return. we fight, we continue to fight, and we became victorious in our battles. can you guess who i am?
