Ti is such a beautiful place maybe the town should focus more on tourism , visitors and recreational opportunities and tell IP to take their pollution and get out. how much do they pay in taxes, when they do eventually leave the cleanup from their mess could cost billions.

New York State taxpayers will contribute $1.75 million toward the IP natural gas line through a grant awarded to the North Country Regional Economic Development Council for this purpose.
International Paper will spend between $8-10 million to convert their power and recovery boilers in Ticonderoga from oil to natural gas.

Question: Will the natural gas pipeline at IP have excess capacity to support future expansions toward the hamlets of Ticonderoga and Crown Point?
Answer:no the tax payers will not benefit but they get to pay for it.

I can't move away and find a job because I have Attention Deficit Disorder and I can barely pay attention to my Welfare Debit card. I was discouraged about my looks, so I went to the Tattoo shop and had some nice designs put on my face and neck. Now it seems at every job interview they say "We'll call you." but they never do.

So, you're on welfare, but you have cash to pay for a tattoo?

How does that work? Selling your pills, again?:-)

The cash I had for my tattoo I won at the Casino. They scanned my welfare debit card and took some money for gambling and then I hit a small jackpot. How sweet is that to gamble with the state's money?

I never have to sell my pills for cash. Come on, we have 9 children here. Man I hit the jackpot. Every kid has ADHD, so I get a nice SS check for every kid, every month. I'd write more, but we need to catch our plane for a 2 week cruise in the Bahamas.

You are so right. We won't be taking the children with us to the Bahamas. It is nice to get away. Right after we return I'm going in for surgery that my doctor says will help me walk again. Medicaid had questioned this penile implant surgery once before.

Thats another politician talking (Bill Grinnell) believe what you want it still tells me if IP leaves good by Ticonderoga. All of us people who work to make a living will have to move where there is jobs. Then all you welfare people who can spend all there time on here will have to plant a garden or starve??

Wasnt there just an article in the times of ti about the natural gas line being extended to the community....costing 40% less than fuel oil to heat your home. I dont think it would take long to get an ROI.

Nope. The article was filled with passive non-committal language such as "could" and "should."

A close reading of the article also reveals that Supervisor Malaney is doing nothing to take the lead on extending the proposed gas line beyond the IP property. Rather, it's apparent that she's merely repeating what she is told.

You should also note the no one has ever stated how much excess capacity a gas line at IP would have to serve other customers.

She has not done any more or less than the one before her, or the one before him. So, yes! When it's not working (and it's not), try ANYTHING else.

You are a complete moron that must be on welfare or never worked anywhere. IP leaves, then pack up southern Essex County, because many will also be forced to leave. Do you have any clue as to what they pay in property taxes? Payroll? Just the economic spinoff from IP being here amounts to tens of millions of dollars!

Yes you are a moron IP is trying to improve not go back in time, they have spent a lot of money on this, and a lot of money on the town. NO MILL, NO ANYTHING, GHOST TOWN!!!!

IP isn't trying to "improve" anything except their bank accounts. They are trying to save money for the corporate stockholders.

Now, IF they were really interested in being in the 21st century, and if they really cared about Ticonderoga, residents and workers, they would improve their pollution control systems.

Have you forgotten the tire burn fiasco...that made that particular IP mill a laughing stock for miles (and states) around?

I don't work for or at the Mill.

They Mill brings down my property value due to the STENCH.

SO if the Mill were to close then I would not smell it anymore.

Why does the Mill not pay it FAIR SHARE of TAXES when the CEO brought home over 20 million last years and I am literally picking up cans to save up for my next tax bill.

I don't live in TOWN, I do not get anything for the taxes I pay, no services rendered.

WHen I call the police and there are people trespassing on my land, stealing from me they do nothing because they are all related.

Ticonderoga is a sh1t hole plain and simple, beautiful location, georgeous landscape, but the Politics suck and the residents cannot afford to pay for the State and TOWN workers salary, benefits, and pension.

Nothing changes in Ticonderoga..ever...just more businesses and good smart people leaving.

Nothing but drunks and skunks behind.

Why don't you sell your property and take your whining ass somewhere else. I was born here and I'll die here. Ti is what is and people like you are most of the problem. Half assed un-informed ramblings on an annonymous blog post. Take your shit and git, good riddance.
