Our lovable lab truly enjoys the dog park, a wonderful gift that kind and concerned worked hard to create for the canine of Ti. However, one day a dog who has very bad behavior was allowed to enter ... this Siberian attacked our dog and almost ripped his ear off! Now, this is our problem ... everyone who brings a dog is responsible for that dog ...Our poor pup had to have stitches and was very uncomfortable with the Victorian collar on those hot days! Thanks ... please do not bring your dog to the park ... what do all you Ti and environs.

schroon lake needs a dog park, people must be held accountable for their dogs behavior and should keep them on a leash for a few min. to make sure they will get along with other dogs. they also must be able to control the dog if it does get mean

There are several incomplete statements which make your post hard to interpret. I'm sorry your dog had a bad experience.

That is what we do. Sometimes I feel silly because my dog is very cautious herself.

WHY, would you take your dog to a dog park?? If you truly care about your dog, that is the last place you should be. Who knows what illnesses are left behind by the urine, and feces? And, as you found out not all dogs are passive. Shame on you for subjecting your dog to a dog park.

yeah, why would you send your kids to an area where other children are that they could catch something there from one of them....seriously? nothing wrong with using the dog park if you are on top of your pets vaccinations etc.

there are rules that the owner and others have made that all dog owners are to be respectable for. contact the police and the owner of the dog park and let them know what dog and name of the owner did this. hopefully this does not happen again.

I repeat ... there are dog parks throughout the U.S.... now, if they were causing problems, why wouldn't they close them down? My dog needs this open area to spread his paws! Vets give a bordatella shot to any an all animals that will be co-habiting in a kennel or dog park.

If an owner knows their dog isn't "dog friendly" then he should let the other people know before they enter the pen with this dog...so the owner can leash him and take him out of pen.....not all dogs automatically like other dogs....being loose on a public pooch pen ..to me is stupid...build one in your yard....I personally prefer to walk my dog...as he enjoys that more also....but if my dog was attacked by another dog ..the owner of the other dog should be pay vet bills....and I also agree with leashing your dogs as you introduce them ..and if they don't get along you have control of them...

Often times the dog that attacks is not the instigator of the fight. I agree all dogs should be under control until you are sure they will get along. However it only takes a look or tail position in the dog world to start the fight. They do not behave like humans, and most people don't know how to read their dogs behavior coming into a new environment. Please leash until everyone is sure they are going to get along.
