We went there last weekend, and loved it. The portions were good sized, and the scallops were delicious--not overly breaded, very tasty. The priced were reasonable too.We will definitely go there again.

<quoted text> Yes, smog, the mill and the fact you sit overlooking busy road inhaling exhaust, under hot canvas in hot sun. Such perfect scenery. Not my idea of ideal..this ain't Maine, just dismal, don't do it right the first time CP. The host/hostess are pretty fishy. Did they renovate the bathrooms/change the staff? Only there once and never went back, and the impression it left keeps me from returning, no matter what they call the place.
No, you have not been there at all. There is no Canvas roof, it is metal.

The portions maybe small but is it fresh and organic? I don't mind pricey if there is quality and not serving frank-n-food. I can't wait to try this new restaurant here in CP.
Totally not fresh and organic.. Everything frozen and deep fried.. Shrimp, scallops and haddock stand in side and watch come out of the freezer....

The place is a roadside summer snack shack, you get a shrimp basket with fries for $8-$9, and you can wash it down with a beer. For what it is, the food is fine. There are few places in this area that serve fresh seafood. Those aren't fresh scallops or lobster that they are serving you at King's Inn either and you pay a lot more for it there. Good Luck Walt and Maribeth!

I got take out yesterday and my wife loved the Lobster rolls. The onion rings filled the take out tray with plenty to share. Glad to have a nice take out selection aside from the usually fare.

Very few inland restaurants can afford to serve fresh sea food. For the market they are serving and the type of restaurant they are, their food and the price is excellent when compared to Long John Silvers and Capt. Dees. Good food is a matter of personal taste and there are no exclusive (and usually pricy) restaurants in Ti although the Fort View, Kings Inn and Best Western serve some good dishes. But again, it is a matter of opinion and personal taste. Best of luck to the Crab Shack!

I have to admit 'foody' is right. This is frozen, breaded seafood from the back of the Sysco truck. And it's true inland restaurants doen't usually serve fresh seafood; they also don't give themselves seacoast names like "Crab Shack," which is intended to make one think of fresh seafood.

my complaint is only that if you buy the lobster....for the price you should get something with it. Cole slaw, corn on the cob....something.
other fresh seafood restaurants charge the same and give some other item with it.
23.00 and nothing but the lobster....and plastic ware you have to get yourself....
just a few small changes could be made, and other then that all is good.
Pretty Please

Of course from Sysco truck, they probably didn't have time to run down to the lake to get it, If you don't like the place just don't go there don't bash them on here, they're trying. I like the place myself.

You think Lake Champlain is a saltwater lake then where the seafood served at the Crab Shack could be caught?

That was meant to be a sarcastic remark to the person complaining. I'm fully aware that Lake Champlain is fresh water, I live here....

these are comments for the consumer. I want all opinions. The good and the so called bashers too. Who is bashing?? These are people who have an opinion and i want to hear it. I live 50 miles away but for a good crab joint i'm willing to travel. Still not detured tho. I'll probably make the trip anyways. But to be fair this is a "forum" let people speak thier minds. It doesnt mean they're trashing anyone. Just stating an opinion.

My Mac n Cheese order was small in portion, tepid with no additional side order. Cost $3.00 - tap water with ice was $1.50. Had to get my own napkin and plastic fork. Experience: priceless. Will not be back!!!
