@Whomever the artist is: Nice! Although I think you should stay away from mountains, as there are many real mountains around here. I don't want to take away your creativity though. Keep up the good work!

The wall is being painted by a talented high school student as her senior project with the help of a professional artist. Give her a chance...Why not hold your opinion until the work is done...so sad..

Who is the professional artist? Maybe we could have the side of our outbuilding painted. A historic theme.??

@so sad- I'm glad our youth is also interested in making this a better place. She has my respect, and I am awaiting her finished project.

Finally a voice of reason. Thank you. I have come to expect nothing but negative comments from this site. That is why I will not mention any names. I know the talented young girl well and her mentor is a well known artist. I believe a newspaper article is forthcoming.

It is graphitti art. I've seen a lot of it in my travels. It can add something to a dying neighborhood or town. Leave it alone.

I understand Banksy is currently downstate.

How do we get him here as artist-in-residence?

I'm sure he'd love the rural Adirondacks after spending a month in NYC.

Too Funny. Years ago the towns fire hydrants were painted like Indians and settlers of this country, they looked a lot better then, then what they look like now just plain red. she wants to paint something go to the hydrants and redo like they were years ago. The wall by Sunoco is degrading to the town can't wait to see the end product by the hospital. Winter is coming soon same with all the road salt that will be sprayed up on the painting every storm from the plows! If this is one of chatties ideas. If she gets into office which I can't see how since she live in silver bay , lord help the town with her future thoughts

@mom- Not everyone here is as you've described. I, infact, am pleased to know that she is doing artwork in town. Art is more than just colors and shapes and sounds. Art is expression, creativity, and passion. I am glad she is helping to liven this town, and I think she is doing a fantastic job. I'm sorry that most people here aren't accustomed to such things as murals, but her art is appreciated.

@art- Isn't L.A. one of the most successful cities in the world?

@doubtful- Ignorance. Why crush one's creativity? At least she wants (or wanted) to paint something for you. This is a gift to our town from one of our very own local students, and she is treated this way?

@Whomever the artist is- I support your work, and I hope you know that your work is appreciated. Thank you for contributing to this town, and I am happy to have your art displayed in this town.

Graphitti art has ALWAYS been very controversial. That is why it is illegal in many cities and many countries. And that is why famous and popular graphitti artist live very quietly and often undiscovered.

Graffiti (singular: graffito) is writing or drawings that have been scribbled, scratched, or sprayed illicitly on a wall or other surface in a public place.[1] Graffiti ranges from simple written words to elaborate wall paintings, and it has existed since ancient times, with examples dating back to Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece, and the Roman Empire
