Me to. I have never seen such a sad class of individuals. The apartments across from the Post Office are deplorable. The smell coming from there is nauseating, so strong of urine I now walk on the opposite side of the road. Kids unattended, filthy and naked and the adults are worse. The town has made it worse by giving them a place to sit by closing off the road to the town offices!!!! Whenever I'm down that way they are screaming, cursing and fighting. I've called the town and they can not do a thing about it. Very sad and right near the post office which most of us visit daily, embarrassing.

And they wonder why tourism has dropped off to basically nothing! WHO is their right mind would want to drive through Ti, much less get out of their car!

My family avoids Montcalm Street entirely!

Oh please state facts if you are going to add to these posts.Tourism has definitely not dropped off.One living here would know we have the usual influx of summer residents and others in the area.Personally I can't wait for September when things go back to normal such as traffic on the roads and in the stores.I appreciate the added revenue this time of the year yet I dislike the crowded stores.I dislike having to wait twice as long at the gas pumps.
As far as the mess across from the Post Office is concerned how many people really notice what is going on there? It may be an eye sore for some who have nothing better to do than complain. Most people go about their own business and do not even look that way,as there is nothing to look at anyhow.

Not too long ago, I needed to go to the post office and parked across the street. Took my son out of his carseat. Walked part way across the road and happened to look over my shoulder to find two guys already! scoping out what was inside my car!

I went back to my car, put my child in his seat and left. I later came back and parked in front of the post office. When I went inside, I mentioned to the P.O. staff person what had happened and my remarks were met with both understanding and frustration--in other words they know all about the problems across the street and were clear that there was nothing they could do about it.

There is nothing the Post Office employees can do when a thief rifles through your car.It is your responsibility to call the police and make a formal complaint. It is also your responsibility to lock your car doors in the first place.I have also found it necessary to not leave anything worth stealing in an unattended vehicle,if I park in a questionable area.Yet the majority of the time I do not feel the need to take these precautions and yes I have parked numerous times in that vicinity for hours. Not once have I found anything missing.

"Watch out" didn't say that he or she thought that the post office was responsible. Nor did he or she say that they did not lock their vehicle. He or she didn't say that anyone was in the car but that the car was being "scoped out" even before he or she had actually gotten across the street.(Which, frankly, doesn't surprise me.)

And yes, it definitely does stink. Urine, vomit. Those poor children! I just cannot imagine that this building meets state building code. I would bet not.

P.S. Everyone that I know that works or has worked in the post office HATES that building.

I have not 'observed' the 'stuff' outside this building, but just driving by, I do NOT trust this place.

Who is the "Health Inspector or Health Officer" for Ticonderoga?? I would contact them and let them know what is 'disgusting' out on he sidewalk, maybe they can do something about this problem????

Just a thought!!

I do admit, the town officials should never have cut off the area where they entered to make this apt. complex...happy!!!!:)

It does look like "ZZ Top is in Town". Nobody needs those kind of 5hit loitering on the Main. That image is a serious burden for property and business owners in Ticonderoga. This is a very intimidating situation for shoppers, tourists, and the summer crowd.
Not Good!

This town is horrible for someone who is intelligent and doesn't mess around with drugs, drinking or sleeping around. I hate it since I don't do any of those things and I am intelligent and i love to learn. There is nothing here for someone like me. I rather stay inside and read or whatever then go out and be with all these losers, honestly. Guess I'm just a hermit, I'd have it stay that way if I was stuck here my whole life, thats me Head Leader of Hermits United.

Qas, from ti mobile mart (across from sharkeys) owns this building. Money hungry towel head! He's been informed on several occasions of the filth, without a care to give the world. Also, have contacted health Dept myself, they said there is nothing they can do about the situation or cock roach infestation unfortunately its home for "TI'S FINEST" these people can allow health Dept to come spray and whatever else, but they do not HAVE to let them in, which disgustingly the majority refuse, without 100% cooperation from county, landlord, and tenants the place will never be suitable for the average individual

Wow this is the most ignorant statement I've ever read. Should everyone act and dress like you? Very judgmental. I'd love to meet you.

It is not just that building. Take a drive up Wiley Street. Most anywhere on Montcalm but the Latchstring "motel" must take the Montcalm prize! Everyone's personal favorite is Lord Howe Street.
For decades the area all the way through Treadway Street to Cossey Street.

Shut up all of you no one cares. Get over it a d live your own life and don't worry about others that don't have anything to do with you. Second don't judge the "scum" you speak of unless you know them Also dont hate on everyone you don't like. This is what is wrong with this town. Everyone gossips and spreads rumors and bad mouths people behind their backs online using fake names. I gav my initials you just have to figure them out. Karma is going to be coming around and you gossipers won't like it when it does
