I have been waiting patiently all fall to install my new bird feeder. I have had it out for two weeks and still no birds. I don't even see many birds of any kind around. Has anyone else noticed this or am I losing it?

Birds are always wary of predators so, if you can, hang it on or near a tree they can take refuge in. Also, if there are no cats around, sprinkle some bird seed on the ground around the feeder(economy bird seed works as well as the premium stuff) Good Luck!

Sweetie, do try to throw some seeds around on the ground to attract them.. As spike had mentioned, first make sure you don't have stray cats around. then load up your feeder. Now I use black oil sunflower seeds and seeds for all types of birds too.. I have so many birds. I wish I could send some your way. I will go thru 40lbs of the black oil seeds in a month..LOL
Another trick take a piece of bread, cut a small hole at the bottom ,just big enough to fit a piece of string thru.Make sure string is about a foot long.Tie it in a knot at the bread. Let the bread dry, spread p-butter on one side ,then sprinkle the all bird seed on one side ,Then do the same to the other side. Then take the bread with the string already tied at one end, and tie the other two ends to a branch in a tree. This will help too.
Good luck!

It's official. All the birds are in Florida. Best advice is to load your feeders with leftover meat scraps. Turn on the lights and wait for the raccoons.
