what really throws me is they put violent residents in with non violent. in one house i know of there are 6 residents, two are explosively violent and unpredictable..... the other four residents routinely run for cover . imagine a house with a young male over 6 ft tall with a history of routine violence that can walk and move about 9 other individuals in wheel chairs and not able to mobilize. it took 2-4 people to control him , what chance does the 78 yr old man who doesn't speak and is in a wheel chair?
food for thought people. the violent residents have always been here... the staff deserves combat pay for sure. males are rare in the southern region only making up about 20 % of the region. as well... woman get hurt routinely , i have seen broken noses, cuts n scratches, bruises on woman, people put out of work for life even, more than a few, and it is routine. Please know i am not saying anything against the residents they suffer more than anyone . Until they dump the top trash, also 90% females, nothing will ever be any different.

Buy yourself a gun. Maybe you'll feel safer then.
If you knew anything about sex offender statistics, you'd have a partial understanding and not be like a scared 12 year old that fears the shaddows. Sex offenders do live in the community, but they're not the threat that the uneducated and politicians would have you believe they are.

If you have adults with developmental disabilities, that are also sex offenders living in your neighborhood, you are a fool to tolerate it.

This needs to be reported to the state. This is abuse for the residents that can't protect themselves. Women should not placed in harms way either. This guy needs to in a secure setting with appropriate safeguards. Mountain lake Service is dropping the ball. People I would take out cell phones and start taking movies for the attorney generals office if you feel anyone is in danger. It is obvious people are not training or being trIained. Is this the house that was on the police blotter a few weeks ago?

<quoted text> this has been going on for years. i worked there aprox 20 years ago,the sex offenders would have their bedroom doors set up with a alarm to warn staff when they were on the prowl for female residents.the ladies of child bearing age would be put on birth control.some were raped and the public never knew these preditors are living in the neighborhood.
Isn't that nice. Put the ladies on birth control?! I can think of something much better, but not legal..I wouldn't work for, or put up with MLS ever. I do not believe they should be out in houses in the community, never did, but rather in a college like campus..all in one place. That would cut down on trucking them all to day center and plenty of staff would be around at each "house" and in the vicinity. Think of the tax dollars this would save.

The tax dollars are being saved by State by eliminating the State Employees and their benefits while distributing the individuals into the homes in the community.I know that the housing you claim would be better is not the answer. As matter as fact it is a very backwards step to institutional settings. There are some individuals who should not be allowed to live in the homes and they should be in more secure settings. But with the State closing those settings and laying off thousands of employees there is a greater risk of those at risk individuals being released to their families in the communities with no oversight at all.

I would GLADLY pay taxes to house sex offenders FOREVER. Forever! Is there really any safe and sensible alternative? No, there isn't.

What's more sickening is that so many tax dollars are wasted on foolish programs or just plain corruption!

So if he rapes a child or a caregiver what's his defense? I am unaccountable because I am mentally challenged! Hope this makes you all feel good and safe here.

I bet you would have preferred he was released to the general public once his sentence was served.

Like it or not, sexual offenders do not get life sentences.Just take a look at the registry again and see for yourselves that they are all around you.And those are just the ones who have been convicted of the horrendous crimes of sexual nature.Personally I wish all offenders would have to live in supervised setting and receive continued therapeutic services.Personally I would rather live next door to such a setting than next door to any of the "watering holes" where many of the sexual offenders sit night after night.

Enough of your your dribble. Open up the Post Star and read about the level 2 sex offender that just committed ANOTHER crime against a child. I choose not to have them released ever. I choose to know that I live in a community where I know who my neighbors are and that my children and grandkids are safe if they wish to play outside. I choose to see my tax dollars be spent on education, taking care of the elderly and people with disabilities. I do not choose to have your sex offender and pedophiles in my community so you can get a check while putting this community at risk. Get off your high horse and realize you are wrong and move him back to Port Henry where he once lived.

If there are facts to be reported, call a reporter!
Not a "government" agency.

BUT, you will need to call as far as Albany to find a real newspaper that may be willing to investigate this. I believe the Albany Times Union reported on the Jim Gilbert case, so they may be willing to look into this story.??

I called MLS and they told me that it ws not true, just rumors started by unhappy employees. I don't believe them because I found the person on the sex offender website myself. They also told me that all of that the house is being supervised by men, also a lie. Here's a question-why lie if you have nothing to hide? Liars, don't beleive anything they say.
Dont believe them..I know for a fact that they have several ppl that are sex offenders, been in prison and they are housing these ppl with the other residents..They dont care thats all they see is dollar signs....
