Police Log: July 21, 2010 Felony arrest

TICONDEROGA Two teens are accused of breaking into Ticonderoga High School and stealing computers.

Cody J. Taylor, 18, and a 15-year-old boy, both from Ticonderoga, were taken into custody Tuesday and each charged with third-degree burglary and third-degree grand larceny, according to Ticonderoga Town Police Chief Mark Johns.

The charges allege the two teens broke into Ticonderoga High School July 7 and stole laptop computers.

Taylor was arraigned in Town of Ticonderoga Court and sent to Essex County Jail with bail set at $2,500 cash or $5,000 bond.

The 15-year-old boy's case will be adjudicated through Essex County Family Court, Johns said.

This kid is always in trouble. This is like the 3rd time in a year he has been arrested. His older brother is one of the many who were just busted for drug sales. Keep both of they're asses in jail!!!! I don't understand how people get away with what they do. Ive seen almost everyone who was recently busted for drugs walking the streets! There is a serious problem with the judicial system!!!!!!!

the school is not good--- the staff does not care--- if they need kids would be educated and thinking about careers not drugs and crap.

Well "Princes" or is that supposed to be Princess? Either way, I am sure you do not have the $5,000 cash or $2500 bond to do anything so we aren't so much worried about what you threaten. You yourself probably didn't go to Ti High yourself, since I see that you can't even spell correctly, but people as myself that pay taxes do care. We care because that is our money that goes into that school and for him to go in there and just steal things that HE for sure didn't spend a dime on is WRONG. He deserves all that he has coming to him, which on a path like he is, will be a long road of periodic jail sentences.

As for localcrapo, you are as your name states. Apparently you have a chip on your shoulder, since you didn't amout to shit. There is just so much that a teacher can do, most of things learned come from parents or guardians. The unfortunate thing is that kids don't ask to be products of the many suckish parents around here that are too busy worrying about drugs, booze, and sex than worrying about what they are teaching their children. Then they do things like steal, do drugs, and end up in jail.
Just another apple that didn't fall far from the tree....

There are a large number of kids graduating who are going to college and thinking about careers. We have kids at pharmacy school, engineering school and other top colleges. As a recent grad I remember the teachers and felt that they did care. They often came in early to work with me and stayed after if need be. I was also well prepared to compete with my classmates at college. Just because all you hear about in the news are the kids who are getting in trouble does not mean that all kids from Ti are into drugs and not career minded. I plan on taking my college degree and heading to grad school, then finding a job as far away from Ti and the cynical people here as possible.

You are absolutely right. Ticonderoga is no different than any other small town in America. You have those who go to college and become successsful and, unfortunately, you have a very small group who find trouble at every turn. The people who use this small group of troubled kids to "prove" that everyone from the school is a loser are the true losers. They most likely never left Ti, are struggling financially and spend inordinate amounts of time blaming others for their sorry existence. They should look in the mirror and understand THEY are the reason they have no future. Anyway, they continue to entertain us with their angry, misspelled rants and do not relize that we are all laughing at them...not with them.

Ticonderoga is not like any other small town in America, it's DRAMA-FILLED, at least in the way it uses topix.
Do a google search of towns with around 5000 people and check their topix forums. It more than likely will reveal the number of posts and treads will be at least 80% fewer and the content will be considerably more substantial and coherent.
I'll agree there are some intelligent people coming out of school. The challenge will be to find creative and imaginative ways to keep them from leaving town for greener pastures.

Dude, good luck. There's no need for engineers, field researchers, computer operators and technicians, lawyers. accountants,(qualified) teachers, or (qualified) doctors up here (nurses and mill operators certainly are qualified individuals, and are an exception to this rule). The people that have those jobs generally hold on to them in small towns, leaving a small window after their retirement for graduates to snag their occupation. I know of not one individual who graduated from college or university and lives here in their hometown in the capacity they were trained for.

What you're left with is a complete brain drain on small towns as the population graduates and looks for jobs elsewhere. A few get "lucky" and get jobs close to home, but most move.

Ticonderoga can't sustain the amount of educated, skilled professionals it fosters year after year. The biggest export Ticonderoga has, after paper and drama of course, must be college graduates. And retirees

America is the land of opportunity right. It is what you make of it. It is not up to the school to make you attend, or a job to fill out an application for you, or a sports team to come get you to try out and attend practices. You need to work at these things. There is another post about this website as a virus. It is that and most of the people that post here feed into and from the crap. Get over the pitty party crap and make an effort to change yourself, friends, family, the town, or other thing in a positive manner. Or, leave if you are unhappy. There is not a big wall or fence around town so people can't seek another place to whine about and not make a positive change.

Anybody can sell large volumes of crack.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist.

Doesn't make the dude any less a loser.

He's from Ti.....where the word "loser" originated.
