Great article. Says it all...I suggest they each do the year in jail...if that's the max, they should get it....and the cops and the courts and the DA needs to pay close attention and start changing the laws....start changing the laws now, make an example NOW

This is the second time I have seen the statement that the most time these people face is 1 to 2 years. If I am correct and they have been charged with unlawfully dealing with a minor, they could face a year in jail and $1000 fine per count. So if they have 13 counts they could potentially face 13 years. Can any of you legal beagles out there confirm this for me?

If they take a plea instead of going to trial they will clump all the charges into one charge and get one sentence for that charge or they might drop several charges and only charge them with the greater or lesser charge depending on the case. It's not always fair but that is how they do it sometimes.

Isn't it time WE voice our concern; inundate all of our representatives with a campaign of letters letting them know we are sick of the limp wristed misdemeaner charges brought against these idiot adults that feed alcohol to our children and then get off with plea dealings or small fines and slaps on the hand.

I think its time to take charge. We will have a listing of all of our newly elected or re-elected officals in the papers in the morning. If they hope to get re-elected after this term they best do something constructive with regard to this situation.

The same goes for the DAs and the Judges, be they local or County. Throw the book at them now; don't allow plea bargainings; the hell with 1 day in jail and 1/2 off for good behavior.

Granted, that may not stop young people from drinking but it sure as hell will slow it down. All we really need is someone with balls big enough to put in a dump truck to get it started as an example. Will anyone step up to the plate?

I will work on a letter that I will post on here and hopefully every reader will print it out and mail one to all of our representatives.

Answer this question, please...

Lacking anything else in the world to do, when did drinking alcohol become the ONLY thing?

Play a sport, play a board game, play a computer game, take a walk, play hide and seek, go for a ride, go for a walk, etc...etc...etc...

There's nothing else to do in Ti, so OBVIOUSLY, I'm going to drink beer...do you see how so completely stupid that sounds??

Lets make sure examples are made of these parents because if they get a slap on the wrist they and other lowlife parents will indeed do it again

Well said Bolton Landing boy! Please accept my condolances. I'm sorry to hear that the only way you can get laid is if you either get drunk to overcome all your inhabitions due to your obvious inadequacies or, alternatively, get your date so blind drunk she has no idea the horror she's getting herself into. Maybe jogging would help instead of drinking? You should try it sometime :)
