recently ran into a couple at a Birthday party in Ticonderoga on the Lake.
They are located on Rt 9N between the Golf Course and the Old Petting Zoo.
They sell Beef, Pork, Chicken, Lamb, and eggs.
I got some really great Angus steaks, some ground beef,Pork chops, and some of the best Hot Dogs I have ever tasted.
It was a little pricey but it is USDA inspected, raised without any Hormones, Anti Biotics, and all organic.
I figured that I saved money and time on gas and they really are very pleasant to deal with.
They have a Website http://crystalspringsfarmny.com/CSA.html
best way to get them is via email [email protected]
Give them a call if you want something, their phone number is on the website.

I don't know why you don't like the horsemeat at Walmart.
Most people don't pay for it anyway because they have a welfare card.

For what meat we do buy we get from Haps. They are always friendly. The meat is fresh as well. The only meat we buy from Walmart is ground turkey breast.

Feed Lot Beef is fed Feces, dead cows, chicken feces, not great for human consumption.
Journal of Animal Science in 2009, eating grass-fed beef provides many benefits to consumers(3):
1.Lower in total fat
2.Higher in beta-carotene
3.Higher in vitamin E (alpha-tocopherol)
4.Higher in the B-vitamins thiamin and riboflavin
5.Higher in the minerals calcium, magnesium, and potassium
6.Higher in total omega-3s
7.A healthier ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids (1.65 vs 4.84)
8.Higher in CLA (cis-9 trans-11), a potential cancer fighter
9.Higher in vaccenic acid (which can be transformed into CLA)
10.Lower in the saturated fats linked with heart disease

Try Greg's Market in Middlebury. It's been a quality market for many years. The meat is always quality. IMHO, better than Haps is now. Lots of New Yorkers there shopping.
The meat at Shaw's in Middlebury isn't bad. I can't speak for Hannaford, although it seems very clean. If you want organic, try the food co-op across from Shaw's. Shaw's carries some organic meat, too, I think. Just some ideas.
Oh, if you go to Midd., there are a couple of good bakeries, and several nice restaurants.(It's great to have a bridge again!)

Middlebury? Why would anyone travel to the People's Republic of Vermont to buy meat. Two Brothers in Ti, Oscar's in Warrensburg and numerous solid places in the Glens Falls are much better options. Let the communists in Vermont continue to worship the big O and his socialist agenda.

Amen to that. Next time you visit that mouth watering meat department at Walmart count the number of Vermont license plates in the parking lot. No Middlebury for these folks. Other than a limited assortment of meats the Two Brothers place is a great option.
