Just hear the about the first recorded case of Hepatitis C I knew it would be just a matter of time !!!! They should be closed down or the state of New York should be more Strict about who is allowed to tattoo and the so called Artists should be tested and Have a clean bill of health before being able to open a Establishment

It was only a matter of time. I called this long ago. None of them are licensed at all, it's completely illegal to be tattooing. A class A felony in the state of New York to tattoo or pierce anyone without first having gone through an apprenticeship and earning a license to do so. Anyone that tells you any different is a dolt and a liar and shouldn't have their grubby fingers on a tattooing gun.

Finally someone that knows what there talking about. I just feel bad for the people that got a jacked up tattoo and a Disease as well. And I'm pretty sure the guy that gives the tattoos has slept with every pig from here to port Henry and back can't tell me he doesn't have something. And as far as the girl that works there have you seen some of the shit she's put on people looks like a 3 year old did it. But I guess you wouldn't have to worry about Catching anything from her shes so ugly im sure she's never even had sex yet unless the guy was wasted or blind!!!

How do you get any more real than a bunch of scratchers being let to permanently mar your skin and pass out Hep C? I'm just surprised it hasn't happened before now. Also surprised they haven't started spreading MRSA yet. If you don't know anything at all about the real tattoo industry then keep out of conversations like this one. What that shop is doing is just insulting and any real tattoo artist would snort at the very idea of their 'shop'. It's a hack shop, NOT a real, professional studio. The girl there has been tattooing since she was like sixteen, if that doesn't prove just how illegal it all is, then I don't know what does, because I can tell you right now, no sixteen year old ever got an apprenticeship and earned her tattooing license, since, legally, you have to be 18 with or without parental consent to even GET a tattoo. Signed - A future tattoo apprentice who actually knows the laws and standards of the industry, because I actually have RESPECT for it.

Yeah, their work is pretty bad. If a license is required, then how are they running a shop with out one? The cops can't be that blind. Business isn't exactly booming as the girl has a job at the dollar store now anyway. Theres only 2 girls at that place who isn't fat or have muffin tops.

If no one reports them, then they can just run a shop until something happens. Then it could be a crime and authorities become involved. The cops don't just check up on businesses to see if they are legal. The landlord & building insurance company should want to see proof of them being licensed & insured. It's up to the patrons to know who they're dealing with and what their credentials are. Buyer beware! What about the new health food store & smoothie bar next to the chamber. Are they approved by health department to sell smoothies?

THIS. Exactly this. The cops aren't going to busy themselves with something if there's no real reason for suspicion. Especially when the local dunderheads keep going and getting scratched up by these kitchen magicians. Sarah Paparella is another one. She does work right out of her apartment, which contains something like 3-5 small dogs and there's feces everywhere. The entire laundromat hallway second floor smells like dog pee because of her. Is that brown shading? NO ITS POOP.

Sounds like someone is jealous. I am familiar with the industry ,I have some great art done by various artists including Emerald Ink. I am very happy with their work. The shop was clean, needles were opened in front of me, gloves were worn, I had no concerns about my health or safty while being worked on. Also just and FYI so you are informed, you need a licence in New York City its not a state law. Maybe you should inform yourself before you start a conversation in which your information is incorrect.

My information is not incorrect, yours is and you can't even back it up. That's laughable.

"New York Licenses.

ยง 17-357 Licenses. a. No person shall engage in the practice of
tattooing without having obtained a license to engage in such practice
in the manner prescribed in this subchapter.
b. The provisions of this subchapter shall not apply to a physician
licensed under article one hundred thirty-one of the New York state
education law."

http://www.nyartman.com/index.php...

Check your fact. And even still, why in the world would you want to be tattooed by someone with absolutely no formal training?

Ah well, you take that sh*t to the grave with you. Enjoy your Hep C, Herpes, MRSA and countless other infections.
Of course

It's really not even a matter of art work at this point, it's a matter of your personal safety. No one there has any pathogens training or anything. Their artwork is not coming into question at all, your safety is. I'm not trying to argue with anyone over the internet and I don't mean to come across that way or as condescending, I'm just trying to spread tattoo awareness and you can choose to absorb it or not. It's your skin suit, so do what you want to it. I don't have to live with your decisions, after all.

Statewide health regulations for tattooing and body piercing are currently being developed by the New York State Department of Health under the statutory authority of Public Health Law Article 4A. The law authorizes the Commissioner of Health to develop regulations establishing operating standards, fees, fines and penalties for failure to abide by the regulations. The law requires tattoo and body piercing operators to obtain a permit in order to operate a tattoo or body piercing studio and for all tattoo and piercing artists to obtain an individual permit.

Until the new regulations are in place, local regulations, if any, apply. For more information on regulations in your area, contact your county or city health department
The law you posted above pertains to NYC not the entire state of NY.
Personally I would not take the risks of contacting any diseases but let's spread the truth

I can admit when I was wrong, but as for what I said otherwise, I stand firm. Why would you WANT to go to someone unlicensed, regardless of it's legality? I'd feel much safer going to someone who has worked hard to attain a license to work on my skin.

The Food Co-Op is not yet operating, but you can get info at the PRIDE building.

The yellow building near the laundromat is a bakery/cafe on the lower level and (when completed) dorms/apartments for NCCC.

One can only guess that you are in denial. Too scared to get one doesn't give you the right to hate on others. You are the disgusting one.
