The sytstem was set up by the government. Period. We ALL have to place by the rules: Your children go to school in the district in which you live and pay taxes. That's it.

That is how schools are funded.(And, don't we have enough problems with funding issues, anyway?)

If we don't like it, then we work to change the system, the laws, the way schools are funded.(Which, btw, is a GREAT idea, in my opinion.)

In the meantime, we all have to play by the rules.

Hey, some people have to pay school taxes and tuition.Like those who choose to send their children to the St.Mary's school. How fair is that? So I believe that if you want your child to get a better education in a different school district then where you live, pay the tuition or pay the consequences.

So you changed your name from 'who cares' to 'mind your own biz'. Amazing that you didn't use any punctuation in that entire post. Oh, I guess I better explain punctuation. Those are the periods and commas, capital letters, etc., that are used to form a written sentence/paragraph so that you don't sound like the idiot you obviously are. I won't even go into the grammar and spelling. How pathetic.

The next time somebody robs you.... And it WILL happen.(In this town, eventually, it will definitely happen!)

Then, you will know how violated you feel when your hard-earned money or items that you worked for and/or cherish are stolen from you.

POINT: This thread is about stealing! Stealing from the Town of Ticonderoga taxpayers.

Get with the topic, HELP--you preach--with the problem, help find a solution to the theft, or shut up!!!

I am truly saddened by this posting. What I have always loved about this town is how it rallies to support each other. I am continuosuly impressed by the fundraisers and support for those in need. However, there are times, like this, when I am truly saddened by the behavior of a few who seek only to be malicious. With that being said, I would like to extend an invitation. Anyone who would like a copy of my Ticonderoga apartment lease, and an explanation of my living situation, may email me at [email protected] In the meantime, I will try to continue to see what is good about this town which certainly is not this forum or the people posting false information on it.

You might want to speak to your child before posting on the forum she will tell anyone who will listen that you are lying about where you are living. From the mouth of babes.

I believe that the school district could sue the parents. IF they wanted to.

Now, just TRY to get them to do it. Ha!

This community should be outraged at this. For those that can tell you the price to educate one student in this district down to the penny multiply that by four that we know of. I send my kids to a private school and still pay taxes apparently for out of town and state kids to go for free. This should not be happening. With the money these families owe the district maybe we should hire a truancy officer. Lets make sure the addresses being used are actually where these students are living!!!!! Bill these non residents!!!!!

Good idea. Ti used to have a truant officer. Some school districts still have truant officers.

I know for a fact that there was a couple whose kids lived in two different towns, splitting their time Equally between the two parents by a Legal agreement, but the kids went to school in Ti full-time. NO tuition was paid to Ticonderoga at all.???

Excuse me, but capital letters are NOT punctuation.

IF they live in a shelter, then they go to school in the district in which the shelter is located. If they live with relatives or friends, they attend the school in the district in which they are staying or living.

As soon as they change locations, the district they're leaving is to be notified AND the district they're moving to is to be notified. Right away. By law. Regardless of how many time they move.

These are children. NOT immigrants. As long as someone has a job & pays for rent in Ti, WHO CARES?!?!?!?!?! At least some of these people actually have jobs & earn their money. This is about benefiting kids so that future generations have decent jobs, not whether or not someone is "school hopping". Not everyone has the luxury of being able to live where they want due to many circumstances.
