Hows everyone feeling about no raises, cut hours, increased work loads, lack of relief and now possible drug testing? While top administrators sit on the three figure salary and drink every night and let the agency begin to sink? The Executive director just goes with the flow and doesn't stand up for us and the Associate Director has become Dipu all over again and she doesn't even see it! But ill tell you staff sure do Beth!

Why not give employees at least something? The money cut was restored right? If you cant afford across the board raises like in the past then give out merit raises to those who actually deserve it! or at least a smaller raise for everyone. You know they have the money. AT least Dipu managed to put the money back into his staff and that helped keep morale up. Good long term loyal employees are discouraged and staff morale is getting very low in the houses - people are done going above and beyond expected duties at this point.

The board members have been accused of sleeping for the last ten years now they want to go extreme...I don't think they realize the can of worms they will be opening. For an agency this size staff have been majority good and hard workers. There is no reason for this except to spend more money Mt. Lakes and get rid of good staff and cut back employment and save money so they can buy more unnecessary things and put on events people don't even want to go to.

Morale, for most, is in the tank. Many are actively looking for other jobs now, including me. Anyone with 4-5 years there are being paid less, in many cases, than newest recruits. With this established, they will always be paid more. The house I work at has an extremely difficult work load. I do all duties making 30 bucks less a week than the newest hire that cannot do all that I do. Great they made an attempt to attract new employees, but short sighted they expect experienced help to pay that burden. It has angered many of my coworkers. In fact, it’s downright insulting. Management’s attitude is “don’t let the door hit you on the ass.” Now, many are being “counseled” for the slighted thing. Some of the silliest things!

It has been said this no raise or bonus business is due to fear of bad outcome of audits from the state. Mr. Nephew has been the money man for years. The buck stopped at his desk for a long time now. Plus, he makes 10 times more than any DSP that does the money making work. Yes, most of the money has been restored, but poorly controlled.

Now, we have the fear of investigations like never before. NYS hired 750 new investigators. We are all being eyed suspiciously. With the increased behaviors coming in, I fear this every day. Just one 800# call from one of the SMI residents and it’s off to the races. I used to love my job, hard work and all. But, I cannot say this any longer. MLS has made some poor decisions and it will come home to roost. The good and "family" familiar employees will leave and the residents will see new strange faces on a constant rotation in their homes. When I hear, "it's all about them"--who is this "them"?

That is appalling how they are treating their employees that have worked there long term. They must revisit their pay scales and prioritize if they want to keep their trained staff. The folks that pay the price for poor morale and frustrated staff our the residents. Not to mention high staff turnover. So they never get too comfortable with some employees. What a shame!!!

I TOTALLY AGREE! A few years ago I wouldn't have minded one my own relatives residing with Mt. Lake but NOT now! Staff are becoming more and more overworked and it shows! now they want to drug test? Really how bout you test those you suspect not innocent hard working staff getting humiliated in front of coworkers to get tested....How much can all of that cost I wonder? Lets let the board get tested too...We have never had a drug problem in the agency that I know how about put your money where its needed...this doesn't seem to be an appropriate place

All the so called higher ups have no idea what its like to live pay check to pay check in this day and age and then wonder why staff are upset - or do they even know we are? Probably not because THEY SIMPLY DONT CARE! Like Jordy said they basically tell you don't let the door hit you in the ass....This is what we get after the dedication over all these years....Shame to say but at least the last executive could manage

Has Martin Nephew ever even worked DSP work? Or how bout Ms. Winters? WHAT A JOKE WE HAVE BECOME! An agency this size needs its staff to stand behind them and most of us are done! No more donations, no more memberships, raffles, etc...and don't ask me for any extra shit!

After being hurt on the job, I was actually denied the chance to visit with those I took care of. I was not fired but I was still told not to come onto MLS property.
I pleaded for training which was denied then I was assigned to help someone which I needed the training for and they tell me not to come onto the property again?
The only people who get any job satisfaction these days is management. So sad that such hard workers are being treated this way. My hat is off to you for all that you have done to make a better home for the residents. I pray for a positive outcome that I know in my heart will never happen.

That is so sad "Facts"! Have the management forgotten that the Residents are people too? They get attached to their caretakers and the people that truly love their job also care for the residents. It is so awful that it has all come down to the dollars and cents. The hell with what is good for folks that require the care they need. I love the mailers that were periodical sent out about the positive messages about how wonderful their quality of life is and how well the residents are respected. That is a bunch of bologna, they might as well have dollars signs stamped to their foreheads because to most of the upper management they are just an ends to means to make money. Their treatment and a lack of compassion they express for those they profess to care about is just a front for them to get richer. Disgusting!!!

They make enough money. Half of them are druggies that use while working. Its pitiful honestly. They are being paid to do blow at work, have bf/gfs come over at night. Its a shame these people don't have real help.
