Archbishop Tutu would pick hell over an anti-gay heaven

Archbishop Desmond Tutu would rather go to hell than to a homophobic heaven. The iconic South African churchman hasn't lost any of the fire in his belly when it comes to freedom fighting, despite his retirement, and is still a vocal campaigner for gay equality in Africa. Speaking at the launch of a United Nations' gay rights campaign in Cape Town, Tutu said he "would not worship a God who is homophobic," adding that you could count him out of paradise if it had an anti-gay bias. "I would much rather go to the other place," he said. He went on to denounce any faith that discriminated against gay people.[Source]

Isn't it a shame when some don't accept the "party line", and actually deal with reality ....

Even the Saudis admit publicly Bush protected the bin Laden family and cooperated with the Saudis - the folks who actually sponsored 09/11-

From an interview with the Saudi ambassador ..

... In the first days after the terror attacks on New York and Washington, Saudi Arabia supervised the urgent evacuation of 24 members of Osama bin Laden's extended family from the United States, fearing that they might be subjected to violence.

Most of Mr. bin Laden's relatives were attending high school and college.

The young members of the bin Laden clan were driven or flown under F.B.I. supervision to a secret assembly point in Texas and then to Washington from where they left the country on a private charter plane when airports reopened three days after the attacks. Many were terrified, fearing they could be "lynched," after hearing news reports of sporadic violence against Muslims and Arab-Americans.

"It's a tragedy," said Prince Bandar. "The elders" of the students "came to see me, and one of them was a bright boy from Harvard who like the others had absolutely nothing to do with this and yet we had to tell him to go home and wait until the emotions calmed down. And he told me that he never really appreciated why the Japanese wanted a memorial or an apology for their treatment in World War II."

The student added, according to the prince, "I understand now that when you are innocent, in the face of emotion nothing, not even common sense, can help argue your case.

THE WAR AT HOME
Saving the Saudis
Just days after 9/11, wealthy Saudi Arabians, including members of the bin Laden family, were whisked out of the U.S. on private jets. No one will admit to clearing the flights, and the passengers weren’t questioned. Did the Bush family’s long relationship with the Saudis help make it happen?
By Craig Unger

.... Gross up was told to go to the airport, where a small charter jet would be available to take him and the Saudis on their flight. He was dubious about the prospects of accomplishing his task.“Quite frankly, I knew that everything was grounded,” he says.“I never thought this was going to happen.” Even so, Grossi, who’d been asked to bring a colleague, phoned Mañuel Perez, a former F.B.I. agent, to put him on alert. Perez was equally unconvinced.“I said,‘Forget about it,’” Perez recalls.“‘Nobody is flying today.’”

The two men had good reason to be skeptical. Within minutes of the attacks on 9/11, the Federal Aviation Administration had sent out a special notification called a NOTAM—a notice to airmen—ordering every airborne plane in the United States to land at the nearest airport as soon as possible, and prohibiting planes on the ground from taking off. For the next two days, commercial and private aviation throughout the entire United States ceased. Former vice president Al Gore was stranded in Austria when his flight to the U.S. was canceled. Bill Clinton postponed travel as well. Major-league baseball games were called off. For the first time in a century, American skies were nearly as empty as they had been when the Wright brothers first flew at Kitty Hawk.

Nevertheless, at 1:30 or 2 p.m. on the 13th, Dan Grossi received his phone call. He was told the Saudis would be delivered to Raytheon Airport Services, a private hangar at Tampa International Airport.

When he and Perez met at the terminal, a woman laughed at Grossi for even thinking he would be flying that day. Commercial flights had slowly begun to resume, but at 10:57 A.M. the F.A.A. had issued another notice to airmen, a reminder that private aviation was still prohibited. Three private planes violated the ban that day, and in each case a pair of jet fighters quickly forced the aircraft down. As far as private planes were concerned, America was still grounded.“I was told it would take White House approval,” says Grossi.

Then one of the pilots arrived.“Here’s your plane,” he told Grossi.“Whenever you’re ready to go.”

Unbeknownst to Dan Grossi, Prince Bandar bin Sultan, the 52-year-old Saudi Arabian ambassador to the United States, had been in Washington orchestrating the exodus of about 140 Saudis scattered throughout the country who were members of, or close to, two enormous families.

One was the House of Saud, the family that rules the Royal Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and that, owing to its vast oil reserves, is the richest family in the world.

The other was the ruling family’s friends and allies the bin Ladens, who, in addition to owning a multi-billion-dollar construction conglomerate, had spawned the notorious terrorist Osama bin Laden.

Thanks to the bin Ladens’ extremely close relationship with the House of Saud, the family’s huge construction company, the Saudi Binladin Group, had won contracts to restore the holy mosques in Mecca and Medina, two of the greatest icons in all of Islam.

And off they flew.

Glad I could help.

My posts aren't for Right Wing Wacko who are forced by their emotional blinders to avoid reality - they are intended to allow normal people to know there's no need to be intimidated by loud, but ill-informed wackos.

Until you want to deal in the real world- not the pretend RWW world - I'm happy to allow those with a affection for reality to view my posts, and comment or not, as they see fit.

Surely he's shared his secrets with China & Russia. I don't see Putin bowing to Obama or Holder's request, even though they've promised to spare the death penalty. Greenwald made the statement to an Argentinean newspaper, "Snowden has enough information on the US government to cause more damage in one minute alone than any other person in US history". That's enough reason for the US to tread lightly, if true. I don't think Snowden's bluffing.
My guess is there isn't much if anything the Russians didn't already know about the NSA. What I hear is that the NSA has thousands of employees as well as private contractors that work on the data collection and spying. Between a spy here and there and Chinese computer hacking my guess is that the only people that didn't know what was going on was Americans.
Besides Snowden hasn't said anything that I haven't already read here and there over the last years. If you haven't heard any of this then you just haven't kept up.
So far as I know he just told the American public things which they should have already known but didn't. It is possible that he did actually give some real secrets away to another country, but I don't know that.

Surprise, surprise, you are missing the key points in the very quotations you gave. The family members were "driven or flown UNDER FBI SUPERVISION" yes, supervised AND QUESTIONED and allowed to leave as there was no evidence of their involvement. Unlike what your post said (though the information was in the same article you pulled your info from), the planes were chartered by the Saudi government and were allowed to leave only after all airports were reopened and the bin Laden family members were questioned. The article also noted that Osama bin Laden "is estranged" from his family. And as I stated earlier, his citizenship was revoked because of his weapons smuggling.

"As thousands of Americans were recoiling from the Sept. 11 terror attacks, Saudi Arabia's ambassador,..., faced another kind of horror: America's staunchest ally in the Arab world was more prominently associated than ever before with Mr. bin Laden. In addition, a majority of the men who hijacked four airliners in the attacks carried Saudi passports.

"This is the worst thing that has ever happened to us," the prince told associates as the first images of the collapsing towers in New York registered the magnitude of the crime.

This dark prediction may or may not prove to be true. But Prince Bandar, who is enthusiastically pro- American, kicked into high diplomatic gear this week with a series of public appearances to bolster the image of Arab support for President Bush's coalition against terrorism."
=======
So while I congratulate you on actually attempting to use factual information instead of baseless attacks, you need to use facts which actually support your position - this was a fail, sorry.

....The fiscal 2001 budget surplus was projected at $256 billion, White House officials said. The fiscal 2000 surplus was $237 billion, officials said, which capped four straight years of budget surpluses.

vs.

... The deficit for fiscal year 2009 — which began almost four months before President Obama took office — was $1.4 trillion and, at 10 percent of Gross Domestic Product (GDP), marked the largest deficit relative to the economy since the end of World War II.

Oh wait...

Let's see ... again posted proof Right Wing Wacko Bush sent bin Laden's family to safety to avoid any of that nasty detention, and torture we reserve for poor and unconnected terrorists.

and

now again posted proof of the budget surplus Right Wing Wacko Administration inherited - and that they turned it into a $1.4 Trillion Dollar annual deficit - not counting the $6 Trillion Dollar war debts.

Now the government is going to have blimps floating over our heads. This is to protect us from incoming missiles. At least that is what the government says.
As far as I know the U.S. has only one anti-missile site and that is in Alaska. I think another is proposed in California.
So just what is going to shot these incoming missiles down? Are there secret anti- missile bases hidden all over the U.S. that we don't know about? Could it be if they don't exist then perhaps these blimps are going to be used to watch us? Just another question.

Nice try.

Do they routinely do frontal lobotomies on Right Wing Planet, or are you actually so insipidly ignorant as to believe your own post.

I say... Right Wing Wacko Bush arranged to fly the family of the terrorists safely out of American air space.

You say .. Your a liar !!!

I post the portions of the interview with the Saudi ambassador who confirms that RWW Bush did just that.
and
I also post the interview with one of the participants who worked with the FBI, the White House, and local police, to do just that.

You see, on Planet Earth that means you owe me an apology because I made you eat your words.

You look foolish and uninformed.

Worse, you look ignorant because after all this time you still haven't grasped that everything fact I post is documented.

Now stop appearing more foolish than you need to be, and just accept your error, apologize and move on.

I won't even mention having forced the facts about Right Wing Wacko Bush's deficit down your throat - that must have hurt.

And I won't bother prove the silliness of attacking the facts that the last two Right Wing Wacko Presidents respectively tripled, and doubled the deficit.

Oh, we are all so impressed the ambassador spoke in such loving terms about bin Ladens close friend and business partners, Bush and Cheney, who had just protected the family of the terrorists who blew up the WTC

- how surprising that he would suck up to them.

- by the way, does that mean the RWWs will stop accusing Obama of being Muslim since even the Saudi ambassador proves the love affair between Muslims and RWW Bush ?

Of course the ambassador failed to mention that 15 of the 19 hijackers were Saudis or using passports provided by the Saudis, that the terrorists had trained in Saudi Arabia, that Saudi money had financed the terrorists and blowing up the WTC, and that the terrorist in charge of blowing up the WTC was a member of the Saudi Family Dictatorship.

He probably had just explained to his lapdogs Bush and Cheney they needed to punish the terrorists by invading .... Barbados, Sweden, er... I got it .. Iraq.
