I agree!! Absolutely ridicuilous!! All because a YOUNG kid (under the age of 21)....not to mention everything else he was being charged for was intoxicated, he fled thinking he wouldn't get caught!

I'm praying for the families.

Drunk drivers should have a ball and chain put around their ankles and be forced to clean the sides of busy roads. Now we get to feed this jerk for years while he contributes absolutely nothing.

Who wrote that copy? It was tacky. The boy is "fighting for his life" while the family is "working with the hospital to donate his organs"? It just wasn't well thought out. I hope the family doesn't see this.

Prayers go out to the victim and his family.

The driver was an illegal mexican immigrant. He admitted he had been here six months working at a Kalamazoo greenhouse. We need to seal our borders and hold those greedy business owners who employ these people responsible for bringing them into our country.

My heart goes out to Tasha and her family. It's such a tragedy that this had to happen! This is the one thing every parent fears, the loss of a child. God bless, and stay strong for your other children!

I'm so sick of people driving after they've been drinking alcohol. And Jesse, don't just pick on illegals, pick on idiots who drink and get behind the wheel. You would be surprised how many white, "upstanding" businessmen in West Michigan get behind the wheel after stopping after work at their country club or bar!!!

When is our Judicial System going to make is so rough on these kids who drink, drive, get their licenses TAKEN AWAY FROM THEN, and then drive again, that they wake up and realize that it means that they CAN'T DRIVE WITHOUT A LICENSE!!!! I have literally heard the smart &*)^%&'s say, "It's just a piece of paper, I can still steer a car without it!!!!!" Oh, if I could have gotten my hands around their neck! But, our Courts just slap them on the wrist, tell them it's a no-no, and let them do it again!! I'm getting so heart broken hearing about friends' kids and people I don't even know's kids and families getting killed and worse, mamed for the rest of their lives because of a fricking KID driving while drinking, and they don't have a license. Then to add to it the fact that they are illegally here, and can hardly tell the cop who they are, in English.......DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED!!! Is this the America I grew up in? Did I go to sleep and someone change things??? They MUST have. My GrandFathers fought for better than THIS!!!! Come ON!!! That's all I'm going to say.... I get too upset when I think about all this. I say run that punk over and let his ass lie there to die!! This poor mother is going through this unspeakable pain because of someone elses careless actions. Having 2 kids of my own I could not imagine looking at my son knowing somone else was responsible for his condition. May God be with this family, look over them and help them atleast try to understand why something like this would happen to their son. May God bless you

I will pray for this family. It`s sad when this kind of thing happens. So much of this goes on in this world today. And, it`s even worse when the ones at fault want`s to run, for what ever reason. I pray that God gives comfort to this family, and if by some miracle, he should live through this, that he will be completely heald.
