For those of you who want to check out other translation/interpretation agencies that are reliable to pay translators/TIs, you can google these companies: LionBridge, Certified Languages, Telelanguage, Language Line, Pacific Interpreters
and many other companies locate in Northern CA as well as the eastcoast areas. Best of luck for everyone.
Thanks Corona de Mar. I know I'm gonna make some applications!!

You don't want to join the class action, it will cost you at least 1/3 of YOUR money, to pay the attorney!
Go to Proz. com and post your complaint; also, a complaint is being sent to the AG in California to take care of this matter.
Or, you can take them to small claims court, and request that they refund you your filing fees!
Keep sending e-mails to Omni as well, demanding payment!
What is AG in California?

I do not live in CA, will I be part of "that complain" you have filed for us?

I would like to be involved in your contact lists
of interpreters whom you filed for. Please let me know if it can still add me.

Could I write to you directly or I will leave you my email at this site?

Thanks

Anyone know if they have filed bankruptcy?

Any law governing in CA if they allow or not allow to operate business after they file bankruptcy?

In CA, no obligation starting from the date they file bankruptcy? or after the date court approved their bankruptcy status?

Maria, I spoke to the attorney that is handling the class action. He explained that in this type of case WE don't have to pay his fees. In this case OMNI will pay his fees.. I spoke to him directly.

Is network omni going bankrupt? They laid off a group of interpreters who have been working for a very long time and some management people!! I'm scared to continue working for this lucrative company!

I also heard a rumor they are also laying off a lot of spanish interpreters down in lima and dominican! be careful guys and start looking for other work!

I am sure that is all correct. Network OMni where sending US Gov't calls out of the country and therefor they where in breech of homeland security guidlines. And by doing so it caused them millions of dollars in accounts. However as for them going bankrupt I do not see that, for they have a strong client porfolio. of which maybe they are loosing them due to interpreters calling them and letting them know that they are not paying there employees. Go figure

I will let you all know if the check arrives and will let you know if the check has funds.
I can not wait to see.... however my gut feeling saids that it is all a lie.
Who is up for a trip to Lima, Peru. I have a friend that is an attorney in Peru and is a practicing attorney in california. She is currently down south due to her father whom has become very ill. I am going to call her tonight and see what she can do.
Your check will arrive soon Muerto de hambre.

And one question, you want to come to Lima?
Come down here so you see what Ill do to you, and you going to talk to your lawyer?
What you scared to come down here?
Stop hating me, is not my fault I am doing well here and I have money to eat and I get paid on time.

Does the attorney have the interpreters' information on who have not been paid?
or will he include
more other interpreters to contact him? How does it work?
Any finalized date for including more interpreters
information?
Any judgment expect to have in 2008? or the class action is expected to take longer time for a judgment?

When did you speak with him?

Thanks

first off, there is nothing holding me back from coming down to peru. secondly, I am not afraid of you, what can you possibly do to me? Nothing. Other than that the reason for speaking to lawyer about this issue is so that I can be advised as what I can and can not do in a court of law there. As for you miguel, as mentioned, I can be there in a new york minute. But I am glad that you are doing a whole lot better than we are here in the states. But do not worry I we will meet. and keep in mind that when we do meet, I will have the upper hand for I am a US Citizen that has been taken advantage of from a entity in latin america and you know that does not fly with any consulates office. But I look forward to receiving your check so that yes I can feed my family. You would be in the same boat if you are owed $8000.00. So before you begin running your mouth think about what that kind of money would do for your family. Think of how much money I require to stand afloat each month. Think about the fact that there are 100's of us against you. Think of that we all stood by the companies side and made the company money and we did not get what our contract stated we would get. Think of that. But because you are married to the GM and knocked her up and you are all high and mighty you probably wouldnt understand. Como sus un hombre mantenido y tienes la teta de donde chupar por eso no tienes la capacidad de entender. Pero si. Tu y yo apenas reciba el dinero me hago un viaje a lima. Tendras que darme la carra.

Mr. Serrano.

Hey man, why are you hating me??
Relax...I know you envy me, I know you wish you were like me
But you can´t and you never will.
For your information, I am also a US Citizen.
Do you want too know what I think? I bet you are one of those losers who still lives with their parents in a basement.
Scared to go out and look for a real job, maybe your father abused of you when you were a kid, thast´s why you´re such a pussy, saying that you´re going to take to a lawyer.
You make me laugh loser.
I´m done with you, you don´t have any idea of who I am or what I can do to you.
So just keep on masturbing yourself in your basement and keep on waitin for your check from Omni.
I´m done with you.

Has anyone filed a claim in small claims court? I am sure it is easy to win a judgment against them, but the question is can that judgment be collected? Maximum judgment is $7,500. Options for collecting a judgment: wage garnishment, real estate liens, and deposit accounts.
Yes I successfully sued them in California (Van Nuys) small claims court in December of 2007...and they settled with me 2 days before trial...F.
